Great cheesesteak. You know it's top quality. Best I've ever had in fact. Chips were also great but a few stale ones. Salad was good but definitely not worth $16 for just lettuce, dressing and cheese. Giving 3 stars for the service otherwise it would easily be 4 stars. Young lady with glasses wasn't feeling it today. Just very unpleasant and made no effort at all. She also slammed the dishes and glasses every time she sat something down. Like she was pissed. At one point she must of went to the restroom and when she walked back she was air drying her hands by shaking off the water. She was eating chips on the line out in the open. She was a mess. I'm not gonna overreact and give a 1 star review for bad service but it was noticed.

Spent a fabulous evening at this outstanding restaurant in Beverly Hills. Great atmosphere, excellent service and steaks cooked to perfection. Ashleigh (sic), our server was friendly, attentive and ensured that everything went smoothly. The chefs should be congratulated on sticking to their guns over how steaks should be cooked. If you like your meat "well done" either prepare to be converted or go elsewhere. Put yourselves in the hands of Matu's highly skilled professionals and you will have the experience of a lifetime. This restaurant is recommended by Michelin, an accolade which is justly deserved.

YKTV!!! Saw this on tiktok and had to get it. The wagyu that they use adds so much juiciness than your typical cheesesteak. My only issue was even though the ambiance was cool, the service took so long to the point I thought they forgot about my order. As for the sandwich, I love that they didn't try to remix it to death, they literally just created a very elite but simple version of the cheesesteak. The juiciness I will say almost crosses over into the lane of a Chopped Cheese for those of y'all that know about that. For me that's a great thing but if you aren't into fatty meats like a ribeye you may find the sandwich too much. Overall besides the length of time it took to make, it was a good experience and an elite level standard cheesesteak.

This restaurant is truly exceptional! This is a long review, if you don't want to read it all, short story is the food is delicious every time and the owners/management are some of the most compassionate people ever. It's become our favorite spot for special occasions or any time we're looking for a truly elevated dining experience. Long story is that I very recently (as in this morning!) got shoulder surgery, and a couple days before my surgeon advised bone broth for recovery from the subsequent throat soreness due to intubation. The only issue was that I've never liked bone broth except for the house made one at Matu. Taking a chance, I sent an email asking about purchasing some. To my astonishment, Scott Linder from Matu called me the very next day. While they don't sell bone broth in bulk, he so generously offered me a quart, and wished me well with my surgery. My husband picked it up this evening and as always it was wonderful plus so helpful with my throat! I highly recommend this restaurant based on the incredible quality of the food and generosity of management. Not only will this be my first stop once I'm up and around, but it will forever be mine and my husband's go to restaurant!

Service was exceptional- everything was timed perfectly and everyone was attentive without disrupting the dinner at all. Loved all the staff and the food was exceptional. Some of the best quality meat I have ever had! Loved the ribeye - so soft and tender without feeling like your chewing through raw meat. The bet texture of steak! Mushrooms were one of the top highlights of the whole meal! Have to order mushrooms. Everything was fantastic

Tried the Philly sandwich. It was cooked in some sort of odd grease and my hands stunk afterwards. I know this place has gotten terrific reviews, but frankly, not good. My stomach felt queasy the entire day afterward.

A wonderful spot for true steak snobs. You can tell this is an establishment that is truly invested in the food they serve. Quality cuts in a nice setting. Not an over the top trendy place where they sprinkle gold flakes on their steaks if you know what I mean...

Wagu steak if delicious , but chefs are heavy handed with the salt. New restaurant with not the most experienced staff. My fave was the garlic bread, we order two servings it was so good. I'd come back just for the garlic bread . Expensive restaurant for over seasoned food.

Only steakhouse in L.A I'll go to or I'm making it at home. Ambience n lighting are smooth. Ribeye n fries goes crazy. U can keep your health in tact here as well cause they only use butter n beef tallow.

Came for a girlfriend's birthday and we had an amazing time! What a vibe in there. Dark and sexyyyy! Great for date night, great for girls night, great for anything really. Service was on point, gave us recommendations, gave us our space. We shared a bunch of things and seriously everything was so delicious. The steak tartare was perfect and fresh. When you mix the egg in it too, yum! The salad was simple yet good. The beef croquetas were really nice BUT the skewers stole the show. The flavor on it and the sauces. Yummm!!! Broccoli was delicious, nice kick with the garlic and chili flakes. Now for the main event, ya'll the steak was amazinngggg!!! Please look at my pictures and look at that center. Cooked PERFECTLY! Literally melted in your mouth. The whole time I was thinking wow I gotta bring my man here, he would love it. One of the best steaks I've had. Highly recommend Matú!!!

We came for lunch. Ordered 2 sandwiches were told 20 min wait. However the actual wait was more than an hour. During the wait we were informed 10 more minutes multiple times. Very poor communication.

Very different from other steakhouses ive ever been to in a good way! Loved the Matu tasting menu and how they cooked their Wagyu beef (all warm red- which is medium rare). Everything was just perfect! Cocktails and wines were also great!! If you don't do a tasting dinner definitely get the braised short ribs and the Wagyu steak!

We brought our own wine, corking fee $40. Had a great experience here but they took my wine into the back and put it into the decanter, as it is a bottle we brought, would have preferred if they had poured it in front of us. Otherwise it was a great meal and food was delicious. We did the matu dinner which is a 5 course meal and definitely worth it especially if you’re a first timer. Highly recommend. Great atmosphere and everyone who we interacted with was very nice!
