Best omakase experience I have ever had. I have tried a lot of omakase in Vegas, LA but this is the best. The price is a bit high ($350/p) but worth every penny.

The best meal and the best service I've ever had, hands down. I could not recommend this place more!!! It felt like I was actually in Japan. Truly such a special dining experience.

Yusuke, Tyler, and Teppei San are a warm trio that serves up a delightful dinner. Yusuke has been serving and creating his delicious dishes for years for our family. Great for a special occasion or just a splurge on a good meal supporting a local business.

My family and I were decade-long patrons of Urasawa, so when I heard that a new sushi restaurant had taken their place at 218 Rodeo, I jumped on the first reservation I saw on Tock. My fiancé and I dined at Sushi Yamamoto a couple of weeks ago. We tried not to compare every little thing to how Urasawa was, but to be honest it was unavoidable. For $390/person before tax, tip, and beverages, we found Yamamoto's omakase very basic and lackluster. What they lacked in creativity and finesse, they tried to make up for with expensive ingredients like caviar, wagyu, and generous amounts of sea urchin. We thought the hand roll with nothing but caviar and rice was lazy, and found it very strange that a sushi restaurant would serve grilled wagyu steak as part of the omakase. Also, fried fish taco as an appetizer?! I can already imagine Hiro-san's reaction to this. My favorite dish out of the whole meal was the cold soba noodles. All in all, for the same price, I'd recommend going to Sushi Ginza Onodera instead.

Chef Yamamoto has a beautiful story to tell and his food reflects it. Thank you so much for the most memorable experience. This used to be Chef Urasawa’s space and it has been preserved. I was so pleased to see that the special wood countertop has not been changed. The food is very special but the alcohol pairing is even more special. So if you are planning to come here, make sure you get the alcohol pairing. It elevates the food to a whole different level. The chef and the staff are extremely gracious and that makes for a phenomenal experience. The Sake is some of the best I have ever had. We started the food with a beautiful barbecued smoky tilefish in a homemade tortilla. It was absolutely delicious and it set the tone for the entire meal. Some of the highlights were the Astrea Caviar Toro, the abalone soup which came after the Awabi-abalone, the kegani-hairy crab, uni-sea urchin, and the A5 Wagyu beef was the most phenomenal beef I have ever had. I was concerned that the food would not be enough to make us full but to my surprise, by the end of the meal we were pretty full. My husband does not enjoy sake so they recommended different wines that he really enjoyed. This was a very expensive dinner, but this is a once in a lifetime experience. I would only ask that chef Yamamoto adds to the courses to justify the price. I highly recommend this restaurant for a very special evening.

First and foremost, Yusuke Yamamoto is very kind, humble, and interactive, and always has a smile. The service is impeccable. Every single course of the meal was fantastic. Moreover, even for a Beverly Hills omakase, his meals present a very good value. He uses the finest products and ingredients and he will clearly show you where your money's going. Seriously, he will literally show you each product and/or ingredient he uses for each course and explain to you what it is - grand selection Astrea caviar, A5 Miyazaki with certification, kaneshin bafun uni, large abalone, blue fin ohtoro, Hokkaido crab, fresh wasabi root, and many other fishes, vegetables, condiments, and handmade ingredients used in prep. Even his pickled young Japanese ginger could have been its own stand alone dish. The wine selection and flight were also standout and worth it. First glass in the flight was a vintage Taittinger Comtes de Champagne! After the amazing meal (about 16 or 17 courses) and wine flight, Yusuke-san finished the meal with the most delicious handmade Shizuoka crown melon ice cream. I could hear every diner raving.

Absolutely wonderful. On top of the great food, the chef and staff were extremely kind and friendly. A little hard to spot, it is in two rodeo shopping complex. The elevator to the 2nd floor will take you straight up, there's a sign on the one to use.

Worth 7 stars Omakase experience. It was such an unforgettable experience. My friend and I cried at chef Yusuke san’s outstanding Omakase course. His best friend Teppei san is the best sommelier that I’ve ever met. Chef Kazu san’s soba is also amazing too!Definitely my most favorite restaurant in the world.Although it’s all Omakase style ,“ Enzo Roll “ is a must try after your course, seems a secret menu.I’m sure they will receive at least 2 stars Michelin or maybe 3 stars in the future.Thank you for a wonderful experience.

I have been back a few times since my first visit, and I really enjoyed the premium quality! I also want to correct misspelling of Yusuke Yamamoto in my first review!
