My daughter and I moved here 8 years ago and have gone here too many times to count. So today, on the way home from my birthday it made sense we stopped for a slice of the princess cake (my favorite). It was absolutely inedible. As a baker, I can’t imagine how old it was but it was very old. Cake was entire mush, except for the custard that was hard along with the cream. The marzipan was hard as a rock. The berries turned a dark color all mushed into the cake. I called as saw the bad reviews and wanted to let them know-at which point Allison said she was sorry and that it was baked today. If I wanted to bring it back they would refund me, after I pressed. Once I heard her say this hard mush was baked today, I just threw out. No sense messing around with this bakery any longer. Gelsons has a good princess cake!

I ordered two slices through DoorDash for my birthday, the coconut cake and vanilla creme cake. The cakes arrived shortly, and I noticed mold on the vanilla slice after opening the box. I requested a refund through DoorDash immediately. Hope the bakery can improve its quality and freshness.
Saw a sign at their Melrose location about a “famous berry cake”. Walked by the BH location and decided to try it. I see why it is famous! Insanely good!! A must try!

The slice of cake was awful. Still frozen, wet crumb that felt like icy grainy mush and tasted of nothing.
The vibe felt like a clinic and the only saving grace was the sunlight and the staff that were polite and so pleasant.

I wanted to surprise my boyfriend, who lives in Irvine, but unfortunately, I was not in the United States. So, I asked a friend of mine to place the order because the website did not accept my IP address.
I ordered the cake two weeks before his birthday. His birthday was yesterday, and I had scheduled the delivery for 1:00 pm. At 1:30 pm, I called them to ask when the cake would arrive. They told me it would take about another hour.
I waited until 4:00 pm, but still no cake. I called them again, and they told me that delivery was never requested, and that the address is too far, so they won’t be able to deliver it. They said they would refund my money. I ask, how can such a “high-quality” bakery allow this to happen?
How can they not inform customers when they are unable to deliver? They made a fool out of me, didn’t even apologize, and showed no professionalism. I do not recommend this place to anyone, and I am extremely upset. There will definitely be consequences.
