Real fun place! You can bring your picnic supplies, use their tables, drink their great beers, and.... Frisbee golf.

The Brewing Lair is a fun outdoor hang out and brewery nestled off CA-70. They host a regular rotation of ales and IPA (tending on the hoppy side mostly but I'd really enjoy seeing some experimentation). The barkeeps are pretty chill and perhaps most impressive are the wares in the gift hut like the handmade growlers and mugs. Awesome items for the trip home! There's a good amount of outdoor space perfect for a warm afternoon in the sun or shade. An open grassy area is complimented with a music stage frequently hosting a range of talent from across the West Coast. They have disc golf course surrounding the grounds though it can be challenging to locate through the bushes.

Fantastic brewery! We were hiking in the area and had to come here. Gorgeous location, great beer and food from the food truck. Very reasonable pricing and friendly staff. We hope to return soon

I’ve lived in 5 states and have been to dozens of breweries and this is by far the best one. The beer, the vibe, and the employees are great. I lived in Reno for a year and was a frequent visitor. Every time someone visited me, we would make the drive to the brewery. If I find myself back in Northern Nevada, visiting the Brewing Lair will return to my life as a weekly occurrence.

The definition of “brewtopia.” This place is so wholly idyllic you feel as if you’ve entered a sort of time portal back to the late ‘80s / early-‘90s when craft brewing really meant something. Beers are not bad here (no porters or stouts), and everything is easy enough to admire that it might just turn to envy if one didn’t know what gentrification is and the types it attracts.

My visit to Brewing Lair Brewing in Blairsden, CA, was a truly enjoyable experience. Rich and Sue, the proprietors, are outstanding hosts who exude a genuine passion for craft beer and a commitment to using locally sourced ingredients, which is evident in every brew they offer. The brewery's location is something truly unique. Nestled atop a hill, it provides a serene view of the surrounding green landscape and is enveloped by a Frisbee golf course, creating an idyllic setting for outdoor enthusiasts. The presence of ping-pong tables and cornhole boards adds an extra layer of entertainment, making it a perfect spot for those seeking both good beer and recreational fun.A noteworthy feature of this establishment is the Ricochet food truck stationed on the premises. Their fish tacos are a standout, widely regarded as the finest in town, and I can personally vouch for their excellence. Moreover, the pulled pork curly fries are a delectable treat that complements the brewery's diverse beer selection splendidly. In summary, Brewing Lair Brewing in Blairsden, CA, is a hidden gem that should not be missed. With its welcoming owners, emphasis on local ingredients, and lively ambiance, it serves as an ideal destination for beer aficionados and anyone seeking a delightful meal in a picturesque setting

Reminds me of a German Biergarten (outdoor area, family friendly). If you like hoppy/sour/tart beers, this place is great. If you like a wider, more modern selection that includes lagers, stouts, porters, don’t bother stopping.

Craft beer, food trucks, and live music on a grassy mountainside. What's not to like?'!?!Always a great selection of beer and a beautiful setting to pass the time with friends or just solo people-watching!

I’m from Reno and I have a few friends that live in portola. When in town for the day/night it’s a must stopping by for a yummy cold beer here. I love the atmosphere, the nature surrounding the place and everything about this brewery. Unique. My favorite hands down ✨

I just love everything about this brewery. The outdoor space is filled with games and massive tables that can be shared. It's got a chill vibe and it's on the outskirts of a beautiful quiet country town. Oh, and the beer is superb!!!

I've stopped into the brewing lair many times on our Graeagle trips. Love the atmosphere, fun cozy little spot in the woods, though it doesn't offer much shade so my favorite time to visit is when the weather is cool. I haven't found a beer I absolutely love there, but it's probably me, not you Brewing Lair, as the hoppy brews are not a fave. Would love to see a little more variety.
