If you like gourmet burgers, this is the place to go. I hardly go to restaurants anymore unless they're top rated and even then we have been disappointed at times. The meat that is served in restaurants is often low-quality, probably because they fed the animals cardboard. Spade and spatula has that best probably grass fed beef around town. I would drive many miles for the hamburgers at this place. The service is always good as well. The owner puts her heart and soul into the establishment.

I was so lucky to come upon this spot! Not only was the food fresh and delicious but the service was an absolute delight! My server (I beleive her name was Alexis) had such a warm and welcoming presence. Despite the place being PACKED I received my sandwich and drink in record time and was routinely checked on. This is not my usual experience when visiting these mountain communities, so I will definitely be stopping by next time I’m up here. 10/10 food & hospitality!Dietary restrictions: A surprising amount of gluten free options! Just ask :)

Still such an amazing place to come and enjoy great, fresh, innovative and inspiring food. I love this place. Beverly is a very dedicated chef to her vision of farm to table cuisine. Her dolmas are the best I have ever eaten. We both chose salads this time and were impressed. Bummer that the draft beer was on the blink. We agree we simply must take the drive from Big Bear Lake far more often and come in to see how her menu changes over the seasons. Even though our server was running the whole front, she remained cheerful and efficient, as did Chef Beverly. Thanks for another stellar lunch!

Probably some of the best food you'll find in the area. We've eaten here twice so far while on vacation. The salmon was fresh and tasty. The salads are made with excellent ingredients. The burgers were cooked to order and prepared as requested (medium). The benedict was excellent. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is clean. So, why not five stars? The French Toast was just ok mostly because the syrup was served cold, and the deep fried pickle appetizer was pretty bad - food service frozen bag of tiny pickle spears that were close to 90% breading and 10% pickle. Just don't order them! Overall the food is very good. Just skip the pickles!

I like bacon. Bacon is good in a burrito. Bacon is good chopped up into a burrito. Bacon wrapped burrito! Deep fried bacon wrapped burrito aka bomb chimichangas smothered in bacon salsa.Freedom was fantastic. He brought all the drinks we needed. And then kept us hydrated with plenty of coffee and water refills. What a splendid way to spend an afternoon!Did I mention that I like bacon too?

I visited Spade and Spatula as a stop through on vacation because a friend had recommended them because they had a little bit of everything. When I walked in, everything looked so tasty. I immediately welcomed with a smile and checked in, and the hostess asked if I had been there before, I hadn't, so she went over the menu and offered some suggestions and was just very warm, friendly, and kind. The vibe of the place was really upbeat and even just seeing the staff interact with each other, it seemed like they were all friends and knew how to function as a great team. I wish I remembered my servers name so i could shout her out, but she was a Rockstar. She kept my friends and I cracking up through the whole time we were there. She also recommended the best Pastrami burger I think I've ever had. I don't usually write reviews, but Spade and Spatula and their whole team deserves a shout out! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area!

Alexis was my server and she was exquisite. I will be personally asking for her next time I come to Spade & Spatula. She made sure to get us a spot that could accommodate our stroller for our baby. Our baby also loved Alexis! We got the vegan chicken nuggets, avocado tacos, fried pickles, hummus plate, classic veggie burger, and beignets. It was all fantastic and I will be ordering these plates again. I tried the Strawberry Flats Sunrise cocktail which was quite refreshing and tasty.Overall, great atmosphere and great people! 10/10, cannot wait to visit again :)

Ive ordered a few burgers from here one night and they were honestly decent burger. Not bad but I wasn't gonna get them again. My wife and I decided to try their brunch. We walk in and are seated and waited on by a very performative acting human, acting like a game show host more-so than a human who are face to face with. I can't speak for everybody but its uncomfortable to interact with such an inhuman tv persona face to face. This person acted as if they learned the entirety of their social skills from tv and movies. My wife ordered a bacon breakfast burrito. I ordered a bacon avocado tomato omelet.I inquired as to what could be made gluten free. The waitress then specified most anything on the brunch menu could be made gluten free. I asked if they had corn tortillas to make a breakfast burrito, turns out they do but they didnt have them out and ready so we couldnt have them at that time. So then I inquired as to whether the french toast could be made gluten free by using the gluten free bread they have for sandwiches. This was also unachievable despite having the bread. I didnt press further and settled for the omelet I mentioned. My wife got her burrito and upon taking her first bite she said she could not taste any bacon. Then another bite and she was convinced there was no bacon. We alerted our waitress. The waitress then proceeded to tell us there is bacon in there it was just chopped up. We then insist that if we could not see or taste any bacon in the burrito, is their bacon in the burrito? The waitress insists she must check with the chef. Now this was rather strange. You can ask the chef or the guy down the street, it matters not. If no bacon is sighted nor felt nor tasted nor eaten nor smelled nor even heard can there be bacon existing in the burrito? We then display to the waitress an unfolded mess of the innards of the burrito to display all the ingredients listed and accounted for with the exception of bacon! The waitress then takes the burrito to the chef to show her the lack of bacon and offers to cook us three "extra" strips of bacon. This was absolutely outrageous to me to not only offer three "extra" strips but to imply there is anything extra about it considering there was no bacon in the first place even make the other three strips extra! At last this was mockery of a dining experience. I feel regret for these mountain community's, they deserve to have much better dining opportunities. Stone Creek Bistro and Puglia are the only ones that are worth the hassle. They always go above and beyond.Servant - a person who performs duties for others, especially a person employed in a house on domestic duties or as a personal attendant.Server - a person or thing that provides a service or commodity

Very good food - Salmon salads and hummus platter. Attentive service as much as possible with a crowded room. Prices reasonable. On the loud side.

Decided to have dinner at a local restaurant in Lake Arrowhead. I haven't been to Spade and Spatula for a few years and what a great experience. I had the tuna melt with gruyere cheese and my wife had the sesame salad with chicken. DELICIOUS!!!! The service was wonderful and the atmosphere has a very cool vibe. We will definitely be back soon. If you're in Blue Jay looking for a cool place to hang out and have a delicious meal and a beverage, give Spade and Spatula a try!

Great service, food & wait time. We ordered the pastrami sandwiches and a cheeseburger. The pastrami sandwich is soooooo GOOD!! I highly recommend it. It was juicy and thin literally perfection. The cheeseburger I wasn't able to finish. It was over grilled and there was a strong taste of burnt char that overtook the flavor of the actual patty. The fries were delish as well and tasted awesome with the chipotle sauce.
