If you plan on coming here to eat, prepare to call before hand to double check if certain food items are available.

My friend invited me to dine here. Sadly, they didn’t have the bistec available, it was only 5pm on Friday. This was the 4th reoccurence that my friend was told that they didn’t have the food (bistec) available due to certain logistics.

Although we got to order other items, the sliced meat was incredibly salty and so were the beans and rice… these alternatives left us disappointed.

Additionally, we got to speak with the Owner and see if there are solutions. This could’ve been a productive interaction, like for example promoting certain foods on specific days due to the lack of ingredients and other logistics. The owner was busy and we appreciate her taking the time to discuss with us but we weren’t met with understanding or professionalism, as though our frustration was not justified. We weren’t satisfied with the service we got.

We simply wanted to provide constructive feedback to the Owner of the restaurant, so that she may want to consider for the future.

I just hope there will be a resolution because the restaurant is beautiful - we love Dominican Culture!! And from a business standpoint, to consider adopting a different strategy to make sure they have the right food stock/less salty food, especially for a food item that is a staple to the culture.

Waited over 1 hour for the food for two ppl. Server came once to the table. Owners did not even acknowledge their customers to assist or speak about the delay.

They need to figure out a new recipe for the meat ITS TOO SALTY. I ordered food for me and my husband for pick up through Uber eats and was sooo excited to eat it but after the second bite it all taste like play dough. It has the possibility of being great but waaaaayyyy waaaayyyyyyy waaayyyyy too much salt and I honestly wish I could get my damn money back

I went on a Saturday afternoon after I’ve been craving some good Puerto Rican food, which is hard to come by in SoCal. When I arrived, it wasn’t too busy, so I was able to choose a table and the server brought a menu. I was pleased to see they had all my favorites, arroz con gandules, lechon, papa rellenas, tostones, alcapurria y pastelillos, the list goes on. I couldn’t help myself but to order everything. The food was made fresh to order and everything was delicious. The arroz con gandules and big serving of lechón were cooked perfectly and moist. The alcapurria and papa rellena were not over fried or greasy at all. The tostones could’ve used an extra minute cooking for my liking but were still amazing. The service was good, but also seemed slower for a Saturday. I cannot wait to go back

The reason I give this place a 3, is literally because I’ve had 2 different experiences. Crazy, I know 😆. So, first time was around the time they opened the place. Took my mom here and my friend mentioned it because my mom (and by proxy) me are Dominican. We spent YEARS trying to find a Dominican restaurant. When we took her here, the mofongo was quite literally the worst thing I’ve ever had. But the waitress and owner came by and asked for forgiveness and remade it. It was slightly better. I said I’ll never eat Dominican food outside of NY( where I’m from) ever again.

Now, I said 2 experiences. I was really craving some mofongo, and I really couldn’t care how bad it tasted. I came here again, probably like 5 months later, and I loved it! It was made properly, the waitress was super kind and overall, shows progress. I can’t speak on the service recently, but going from awful to amazing, netted a straight 3. If anything, use this review as a sign of growth. They really are good, depending on the day it seems.

So happy to have found this restaurant. Their food is flavorful and delicious. We had the Beef Pastelillio. It is hot and crunchy with yummy dip. We also had the Jibarito Lechon Plate and Pollo Frito Plate. Delicious. Our server was very nice and friendly. The restaurant was nice and clean. We will be back.

Well, I'm not one to leave negative reviews but I've given this place several chances and I always come away disappointed. Starting with the service, the employees do not have good customer service, they take your order and you see them again until they deliver the food and you leave. They are not attentive to the client because they are on the phone, especially a blonde whose name I don't know but it is one of the worst services I have received in my life. You have to constantly stop and ask for things because they never come to the table and for the record, the restaurant is empty. Now I go with the drinks, they taste like pure juice and when you tell the waitress they are not the ones to fix it or try to find other options they just say "I added alcohol." Now the food, I'm not going to deny that they taste good, but the alcapurrias are always burnt, it seems like they don't change the oil and the last time I ordered a steak Jibaritos it wasn't seasoned, it didn't have any flavor. Another thing, the first time I went they let me change the rice for another complement since I don't eat a lot of rice and the same blonde waitress that I talked about at the beginning refused to make the change because that wasn't the case and I was lying . Like, the schedule said that they closed at 8pm, I arrived around 6:30pm and when I go to sit down the blonde waitress tells me that I can only order takeout because they closed at 7pm, she said it with a tone as if not I would like to serve me and the empty place too. There are really so many things that, being Puerto Rican, I would not return to this place and it is all because of the poor service of the employees.

Overall it is great tasting food and drinks. Have been to the Island and although it is not exactly, like everything the chefs get to put their own twist on things. I am happy with the twists and wish this establishment well as many restaurants have been here and gone

Parking: Signage was a little confusing as it had the old restaurants name Caribe Bar

Where do I start on this Amazing Resturant.

First, I want to say that I'm a Puerto Rican from the Bronx, NY where there many cuchifritos, Puerto Rican restaurants and a strong Puerto Rican Culture.

On 8/25/2024, my wife and I had Jibaritos de la isla cater my Sons birthday party and it was the best decision ever. Not only the food is authentic and delicious, we got to entroduce Puerto rican food for the first time to our guests. The guest all said the food was delicious.... so delicious that many wanted more food to take home!!!

We had a large tray of Lechon/pernil, Large tray Pollo Frito, large tray of Pastelillos, and Large tray of the AMAZING Arroz con gandules.

They did deliver to us since we are close by. My wife loved that they came over with insulated bags to deliver the food. We also loved that they took their time and gave us tips on how to keep it warm and fresh. Their service is how it should be done. The owner was actually the one who delivered with another person and thanked us for trusting them to cater their event. This is how a business should be done!!! Thank you so much and I wish your business all the success it deserves
