In general their meat is good ... Their sides need some work. Beans aren't bad but they aren't great by any stretch. Coleslaw isn't bad but again it isn't great and has a tendency towards the dry side. They could gain a lot from improving these two staple sides for BBQ.

Another visit to Alex's barbecue and another enjoyable meal. Some of the best barbecue I've eaten and once again, not a huge barbecue fan. The service was excellent and the chef came out to make sure the food was up to standards. Place has my vote!

They gave me the wrong food then argued with me about what I asked for which was beef ribs instead of pork. The customer service here is absolutely terrible. Since I don’t eat pork I can’t tell you what it tastes like but if the service reflects the food…. Run….. I would have given 0 stars like they gave 0 service.

BEST BBQ in SD!!!!!!!!!! Literally melt in your mouth ribs... I drove 30 min just to come here again and it was definitely worth it. The beef ribs wow so soft and tasty.... Everything was huge and just delicious. Definitely recommend if you're a BBQ lover GO

I ordered beef and pork ribs, along with two sides of mac and cheese + potato salad. Beef ribs were overcooked and charred. The pork ribs were pretty much unrecognizable. The meat was off the bone and a mess. The mac and cheese was terrible, with no flavor, and the macoroni was overcooked to mush. The potato salad was decent at best. I've been to this restaurant several times, but this time was bad. Service was good, ambiance was lacking. If this place continues serving food like this. It won't be long until its doors are closed for good.

Last night my family and I went to lil Alex’s and we were greeeted by an amazing lady. She immediately updated us on the wait and situation. (All with a very pretty smile on her face)We had an amazing time and even though she was serving and taking to go orders on her own she was very attentive and always smiling.It was my Birthday celebration and she wished me a happy birthday with such cheer. The cook had delicious food out pretty quickly and it was great. The whole crew was awesome and made my birthday dinner a memorable one. We will be coming back very soon and often.Thank you to the whole staff and especially Annie (not sure of the spelling). Everything was amazing!

My first time eating at Lil Alex and it was soooo good. I got a recommendation for this place, and I am so glad I found it. I had the two beef ribs. They actually gave me extra. Beans and coleslaw were both good. Only bummer was they didn't have corn bread. But the ribs were great. Nicely sauced up. The waitress so was friendly and helpful. Next time, I try the pork ribs. Highly recommend.

For the moat part the food was good. BBQ ribs and onion rings were fire. However the "Mac n cheese" were disgusting. This isn't the first time we ordered this and once we opened the bag we were met with penne pasta covered in nacho sauce. Nothing liks the prior food. If they ran out they could have said that instead of taking our money and serving us this. Very disappointed.
