Been coming here for years. Chefs and menus change from time to time. The risotto was not good. No creamy texture. The fried calamari had big chunks of carrot in it. Odd. The service was very good and it was busy.

The menu on opentable is not the menu provided at the restaurant. My companion read the opentable menu and came prepared to enjoy the cauliflower rice entrée and the orange salad. With both gone, pollo marsala was selected. However, it too differed Glennheim apricots from the opentable menu as it came with potatoes not pasta. Also, the chicken breast was not prepared in the more tradition thin sliced portion. I chose the pork chop and an à la cart salad. I found my protein cooked to perfection. The salad was fine but not outstanding. The goat cheese was its highlight but the apricots were bland (should've been California Blenheims) and the spinach was just one note.

Mostly everything was good. However, their entrees and service were not so great. The entrees are smaller than they used to be and, of course, they're the same price, and our waiter only came around once to pick up our plates and asked if there was anything else he could get, also our water was never refilled. I was disappointed because I've been to this restaurant several times and their food and service was always wonderful.

The dining experience we had was outstanding. We met our friends for dinner and had excellent food and service. There was 3 eight year olds and they were happy with the kids menu. We were pleased that gluten free options were available to order.

Unfortunately, I would not recommend this restaurant, especially on a holiday. Really bummed because we wanted to love it, it's close to home .. I may give them one more try when it's not a holiday, but they were super overwhelmed, service was horrible, which wasn't necessarily our servers's fault. She was probably overwhelmed. Our food was cold when we got it after a long wait. Water was awful, we had to order bottled water.... I understand some restaurants use tapwater, but this was not just tapwater. It had a weird disgusting aftertaste. I don't even want to assume why.. I took our whole family here so I was really bummed that I was the one that recommended this place.

Christmas Eve Dinner was spectacular! Our son and DIL are visiting from Chicago and declared Fresco had better Italian food than Monteverde! Service was amazing, especially since the restaurant was fully booked. We will make this a tradition going forward.

Having dined here many times over several years we were surprised that the front desk was in disarray and struggling with arrivals and a noise level making conversation difficult. We arrived 10 minutes early and were asked to wait so we sat at the door and were forgotten by a hostess who was obviously overwhelmed by the frenetic atmosphere. She had told us we would be seated at a specific table after it was bussed but minutes later seated us at a table literally in the entrance way with dishes stacked not more than 12 inches from our ears being used to set tables. A request to honor the receptionist's promise to seat us where she first promised was met with a somewhat hostile response so we left, disappointed in our heretofore local favorite quiet “spot”.
I ordered scallop risotto. Scallops did not have mussel removed, tasted old. Risotto was not cooked, rice was still raw. Sent back to kitchen. Cane out a little less raw but was wet and no monger creamy.

I have been going to Fresco since mid 2000's and their food is always on point. We have gotten to know the staff and they are very friendly and attentive. If you are ever in the Bonsall area looking for some good Italian food with a good atmosphere. Stop by and relax with a nice glass of wine.

I don't often order spaghetti and meatballs because the pasta is usually overcooked, so I was pleasantly surprised to find the spaghetti noodles were cooked perfectly al denté! The one big disappointment was my sister's order was missed so she wasn't served hers for another 10 minutes. The waitress let us know about it right away and was very apologetic and gave us a free cannoli. Nice ambiance too
