A hidden gem for sure. The venue is very cool. Well done. The service was excellent. I had the Elk and it could use a little more flavor. Overall a great experience.
Overall the food was great, cocktails were good, and our server, Gavin, was attentive and provided great service. The only thing that really put a damper in the whole experience was the hostess! Her demeanor was unfriendly and not at all what one would expect from a place like this. We arrived about 15 minutes early and were asked if our entire party was present, which it was, and were then asked to wait until our reservation time, which was fine. I didn't know there was a "waiting" lounge but the couple joining us had been there before and were the ones to suggest waiting there rather than at the entrance. We noticed that there were several empty tables in the dining area and we also weren't sure if we could order from the bar while we waited since it seemed possible we could be seated sooner given all the empty tables. When she finally approached us a couple minutes later than our reservation time, she proceeded to act as though she had been waiting on us to be ready - it was all very odd and such a disappointing first impression. The quail dish was very comforting and the quail itself was deliciously crispy, the boar empanadas were tasty, the rabbit was excellent, and wagyu sliders were also very good. The Paper Plane was delightful and the Old Fashion was okay. Overall nice dining experience but would not return because the hostess left such a bad impression that it became the most memorable part of the evening.
Fantastic food fantastic vibe
I wish I could give zero stars, so excited to eat here made reservations. Worse experience I ever had, in the 11/2 hour I was there, waited over 20 minutes for our first drink. The old fashion came with way less than a shot in it, ok. Bar got busy as we walked in. Ordered the shareable hanger steak. It came as we order a second drink. $54 for 4 small pieces of over cooked cold bite of steak, with a massive amount of sour cream and mots apples sauce. We would have sent it back but we only saw the server twice once to take out order and once to drop off steak knife’s (what a joke) but he was the table beside us more then three times. Not once asking even how our meal was. After sitting for over an hour we flagged him down for our bill, he said they never brought your dinks? Is that not his job. He could tell we were unset never asking us how to make it better, he just got an attitude. We left hunger and disappointed.

One of the best hidden gems in all of San Diego County ... the food was spectacular and only beat by the service ... Amazing experience!
We have been to Harlow's many times and always loved it. This was our 14th wedding anniversary. Thank you!
Overpriced. Food is decent but not worth the price. Wagyu sliders. More like 80\20 beef. The sauce hides that's it's just hamburger meat.
Drinks cost 17. Sides cost 22. Obviously not wagyu.
We celebrated our daughter's 34th birthday and she loved everything about Harlows. Our server Jessica or Jess was amazing. Super helpful and fun.
Date night started at the bar with exemplary service from the bartender. When seated for dining, service was pleasant. My spouse's scallops were delicious, and my elk with blackberry reduction was the best I've had in a restaurant. Only downside, dessert was too sweet (cheesecake) and they were unable to come up with coffee to accompany. But such a jewel of a restaurant off the beaten path.

Excellent!
Came here on a recommendation to celebrate our anniversary. Server was very inattentive. He was MIA for most of the night. Took our drink order. Once he delivered them, he just walked away. After a long wait he came to take our order. Did not know the specials. Someone else came to tell us those. They left, server came back afte4 about 10 minutes. Took our order. I had the special of Halibut. As soon as it was brought out, I knew it wouldn't be good. The “fishy” smell was overwhelming. Fish was way overcooked. So dry. Vegetables and rice were overcooked as well. So mushy, it was like eating baby food! There were roasted carrots, but they were practically raw. Husband had the hanger steak. For $52, we expected more than 4 slices of steak. His vegetables were also overcooked Server ever came back to check on us. I did not eat my meal. Another server came to clear our plates. Did not ask how things were. Ifyoucharge upscale prices, the food and service should reflect that. Finally got our server to bring the check. We won't return. And do not recommend.
What a little hidden gem in Bonsall. This is a great spot for a date night or if the boys want to go have a cigar. We made a reservation and went in the evening, where we got to enjoy some really nice live music, and unique plates, such as rabbit, with pancetta, elk meat and fried Quail, just to name a few. The meatballs we got were made with boar, and were not as hot as I would've liked, so I think they were just reheated. But apart from that, everything did taste fresh and was made with great care and nice presentation. The whole vibe of the place is prohibition style, so if you wanted to dress up in old style clothing you could. They have a cigar bar next door called The Humidor and also plenty of parking and a small outdoor space with cornhole.
Good cocktails too! All drinks were picked roughly $14-17. Would recommend for your next date night!
Overall it was a good experience. The food was great! A bit pricey for the quality, but good. We had meatballs, pork belly, ahi sliders (the favorite) and empanadas for apps. Quail, hangar steak and burrata salad for entrees. Our server was nice and helpful. The live music was great! The only poor part of the evening was the hostess. She was not very pleasant, we arrived ~15 minutes early and she told us “to go wait in the lounge, I have no space for you at the bar.” Not offered to get a drink while we waited. There were open dinner tables, about 5 empty tables and 3 empty stools in the bar area. We waited in the lounge for 15 minutes before deciding to go get a drink and listen to the music. As we waited for our drinks she came up and told us “just order drinks at your table” when we said we had already ordered she said “well then you need to close out IMMEDIATELY before I'll seat you so come find me when you're ready.” She was just very unpleasant and basically rude ... not a good first impression!
We had heard good things about Harlows and weren't disappointed a bit! Fantastic food, ambiance and service. Will look for another opportunity to come back!
