Terrific food. Prices are ok. Understaffed when we were there. Atmosphere is average. Go for the food - worth the wait.

Not bad, but nothing like what you find in LA. Found the taste to be good and a bit pricey because of the tourist location and less competition.

First time eating here during our annual motorcycle riding trip. The food is very good! We are sorry we didn't eat here on our previous trips, but we will definitely return. Great service, and all very friendly.

This was our first time at this location and so when we saw a sign for Carmelita's Mexican Grill we were excited and decided to stop. We entered through the Cantina and were greeted by staff and noticed the immediate smell of the Mexican food. Our first introduction was the salsa and chips which were great! Our server Adrianna was at our table quickly and friendly. We noticed that after giving our request that she was all over the restaurant serving all the other tables like a bubble bee at each flower. We got our food pretty quick and we noticed immediately how hot it was and when it cooled a bit just how great it was too. I had the beef Chimichanga and it was cooked to perfection along with rice and beans. We also had the shrimp fajitas which my wife tells me were absolutely divine and she couldn't stop eating because they were so good. The freshly made corn tortillas were a big hit at he table as well. All in all our luncheon was outstanding and the service was excellent, thanks to Adrianna and staff who were so friendly and courteous. We have scheduled to return to Borrego Springs in a few months to enjoy another great luncheon.

Service was horrible. Server was nonfriendly and borderline rude. Wanted guac for chips while we waited for food. Got it same time as food. Food took long time to get, wasn't hot and mediocre. It was a Saturday for 11:30 am lunch and they were out of Carne asada. Wouldn't recommend and will not be back!!Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible friendly. Too narrow and small.

Service: Extremely poor. Folks seated in front of us asked for silverware 2 times. Folks behind us asked for chips-salsa 2-3 times. Also, no one took our order for a long time and then two different people came to take our order. We weren’t sure if we were going to get our food? and we didn’t get our food for a very very looooong time. We asked 3 different servers to check our food. We asked to talk to the manager; there was no manager. We asked to talk to owner; there was no owner around.Ambiance: Decent. The outdoor patio was quieter and much nicer. Indoors it seemed very noisy. Restroom was clean.Food: Chips-salsa were good. Food was okay in taste, nothing great. It was nice and piping hot.I would not recommend this place. Service is terrible.

What can I say about this restaurant? If you spent 3 days lost in the desert and this was the only place you saw, crawling hopefully in the door and asking for nothing more than a glass of water...my dear, you're going to die of thirst. If you spent 29 days scaling the peaks of San Jacinto and a bear stole your food and ate your foot, then as you tumbled down the mountain you saw the bright lights of a restaurant and you thought you were saved, darlin' you're going to starve. This place is slow in an epic way. The food was good but not worth an hour and a half wait when everyone who comes in behind you gets their food and drinks first. They will not refill your chips or drinks and your food will sit on the counter as you watch longingly. Also, that one girl with the braids learned nothing from Covid. Beware of her wiping her nose with her sleeve as she passes you your chips. Yikes.

The service was lackluster and the food was not very good. I got a shrimp dish because I was trying to get something healthy. I wanted veggie enchiladas but they told me they were out of vegetables. Not impressed
