Selected this place randomly as lunch spot on a road trip. A diner-type place, looks more fancy from outside. The welcome was warm although the interior was chilly. Perhaps that is a plus any month other than January! The Mexican-American menu leans heavily Mexican (and Spanish was the main language of staff and most customers). The Best Mexican Food in the Whole Wide World is in the Imperial Valley. Period. Las Californias is my go-to in Brawley. My son and I had breakfast, chorizo con huevos and chillaquillas. Nothing fancy, generous portions and delicious! It was the busiest place in town when we pulled up but our service was timely. Good choice if you are passing through town.
I've only had the Special Quesadillas which are only found here in the Imperial Valley but I have recommended this restaurant to friends since having it. So good. My mom says she loves their enchiladas. Lol
