Do NOT judge this book by its cover! The food is delicious! It used to be good and now it's amazing. I don't know why. Maybe different cook? I don't know. I just know that it's delicious. We used to deal with China Inns's ridiculously long waiting times because we liked the food more but now, hands down, Peony Pavilion is the go to place. The decor leaves so much to be desired, and the colors are not that great but it's better than the Pepto Bismol pink they had for awhile ? Service is quick and friendly. Prices, fair, considering how everything has gone up. And portions are more than reasonable. I personally like chicken with broccoli in white sauce, salt and pepper fish, Mongolian beef, Kong Pow chicken, and Chicken Chow Mei . They also have this awesome Noodle soup with different meats in it. I like it with their seed-like hot sauce and no noodles. I use rice instead. Perfect when feeling under the weather or in need of a little soothing.Dietary restrictions: Since I have to limit my beef intake they were willing to alter the beef and broccoli to chicken and broccoli and recommended white sauce instead of brown. Best Choice Ever!!!!

Portions are a good size but the taste of the food was not as expected. The food was bland compared to other Chinese restaurants I have ordered at. I was cashed out promptly and the restaurant was orderly.

Staff was amicable. Portions are descent. There was a concerned with some of the food items; smelled and tasted spoiled. Hygiene needs to be highly implemented (greasy tables and chairs). When we brought up possible food being spoiled, management did not address this concern directly.I apologize for posting this data; we don't want anyone to become ill. Sorry. ??After seeing the response from the owner, claiming we wanted a discount or some sort of free items, such were not true. We ordered two lunch specials, two iced teas for the price of $36 dollars and some cents... we paid for it in full price without asking for any refund or anything else from the establishment. When we bit on that egg roll, such had a horrible taste of putridity. We told the waitress and they kindly offered a replacement. We were not interested. We did not even finish the overly cooked, dry and salty food... left a tip for the waitress and decided to leave the premises.I hope this establishment comes back to its former glory. I wish the owners only the best.

I wish I had something nice to say about this place. I requested rice with shrimp. The rice had a burnt taste to it. Service was fast as they do not have many orders or people to attend to. It is an old building.

I recently tried the Mongolian beef lunch special at this Chinese restaurant and it was good. The beef was tender and the sauce had a kick to it. The portion size was decent and paired with a side of rice. That's all I needed.

The food made me and my guest sick. Needs a new cook. Egg flower soup is shimmy and tasteless. Far too much grease in the fried rice. All food over cooked. I use to eat when David was cooking. Now the food will make you

Food was dry and tasted like dog food, our server was kind of slow explaining and understanding and the atmosphere was depressing. Worst Chinese food place I’ve ever been

Went before and the service and food were good. Went back again and the service was bad. The price was decent like 25 dollars for 3 people and now it went up to 75 dollars. No sauce for the wontons, no refill for drinks, and no lemon for the salt and pepper fish. Had to get up to pay the check, to get extra napkins and take home boxes.
