Good food especially the tortillas and sweet butter... and sweet corn cake. Chili verde was yummy!! Menudo.. ehhh. The platanos were very yummy. Service was on point. Hot chocolate yummy... iced tea excellent!!
The food and drinks were great as always. The service was ok. We sat in the bar. The waiter took forever to take our order. Never brought water when we asked. He messed up and didn't place my dinner order thinking I only wanted an appetizer. Which ended up being ok because I wasn't that hungry. I will still go back. The food and drinks are good and this was the first time I ever had an issue with the service. Maybe he was new or having a bad day.
The service was top-notch. Great ambiance. The food was ok. There is nothing to get too excited about. The fajitas didn't have much flavor, and the shrimp salad was kind of boring. The tamarind margarita was delicious.

Jonathon was a terrific server. He was timely, attentive, and professionally friendly. Next time we'll for sure ask to be seated in his area! The food was quite good, except I wished the chopped salad was more chopped. Will absolutely return!!

Cons: First of all, we were seated in the bar which is kind of odd since we arrived at 11:45am for a birthday lunch and no one was there. We were disappointed that there wasn't a lunch menu. Pros: Food was good and the homemade tortillas were absolutely delicious! The service was excellent and our waiter was on top of it. Thank you!

After having been loyal customers since El Torito Grill opened one of their first locations in Newport Beach, we are sorry to say we will not be gong back again. All of the fun entrees that made this such a stand-out TexMex restaurant are gone (duck nachos and Santa Fe Torte, to name just two). Now it's just another Mexican restaurant in a region awash with them, with nothing but the tortillas a honey butter to recommend it. The food was served lukewarm and did not meet our expectations at all. The manager was very kind and adjusted our bill, and we regret that the experience was such that it just wasn't worth repeating. Adios, El Torito Grill. It was fun while it lasted.
Service was great but the food was a little overcooked and dry. Ordered the fajita trio and the protein had good flavor but a bit dry. Drinks, salsa and tortillas were very good. And the servers were the best.

We love El Torito Grill and have been coming for years. The past few times the service has been poor but this time we waited 40 minutes for our food and there were only 4 other tables being occupied, so the restaurant was not busy. Our shrimp came undercooked to the point where they were still gray. They brought new shrimp back but they were entirely different shrimp (smaller and in a different sauce). Food still tasted amazing but this was a rough experience.

We arrived 15 min early and the hostess told us it was a 45 min wait. And I asked if they were short staffed and she said yes so I knew that was the reason I did not see no managers and the hostess was cleaning tables. After we got seated at 7:25 it took the server another 20 min to great us we got our drink order and the server brought it wrong, I requested tortillas and they were burnt, I requested a quesadilla for appetizers it took 15 min. We order 3 steak fajitas burritos and only 3 peace's of meat and no Peruvian beans it was awful. The server did not offer dessert so we asked for the chek and pay the bill and left very disappointed. I will not come back sorry.
PLEASE UPDATE THIS Restaurant...Darn chairs felt like a rockin chair with a seat cushion that's hollow. Unfortunately, our server did his best but obviously there was lack of service. Food was meh, meat was tough but shrimp and the pineapple jamaica were good! Crossing fingers and toes for an overhaul at this location!!
This was the worst meal my family and I have ever had at a Mexican Restaurant. I have not been here to eat in about 4 yrs and I found the presentation of food lovely, but quality and taste awful. Wish I could get my money back. Will never go again to this restaurant. My fillet meat taco was full of tough and a lot of hard grissel. So disappointing. Other food but rice was not good all. Go elsewhere to eat and I am not hard to please but this meal was so disappointing.

Food was delicious. Not too crowded. The restaurant is loud just because of layout and buffet. Very poor service. Waited 15 minutes for a server and then barely saw him. Waited for drink refills and waited again to pay.

I have never in my entire career of eating in various restaurants been treated so poorly. The service was absolutely terrible. The food was served late and was poor quality. I will be in touch with the Manager, Miguel to voice my disappointment.

Amazing Sunday brunch! Tacos, ceviche,menudo, flan. Everything was so delicious. Great selection of yummy food and desserts. Our server, (sorry forgot his name maybe Conrad) tall, reddish hair, was the best. I hope we get seated in his section next time we go!!!
