i tried the hainan chicken, it was okay, for $20 i was expecting more portion wise. wifey got the dumpling with noodles, that was delicious and my kid got the bbq pork buns, it was mid. what annoyed me is it took a LONG time to get a refill of our waters. overall not a good experience for me.

The Hainanese chicken I recently had was exceptionally disappointing. Despite being informed that they had exhausted their supply of dark meat, they only had white meat available. While I typically prefer white meat due to its tenderness, the chicken I received was far from it. Instead of tender breast meat, I was served small, dry chunks that resembled pieces of wood. The texture was so unpleasant that I found myself chewing on the chicken rather than eating it. When I inquired about the dryness of the chicken, the waitress merely smiled and declined to offer any assistance. This experience was not worth the $20 I paid for a meal that consisted of dry, inedible chicken. It is unfortunate that the restaurant even chose to serve this subpar food to its customers.

Came here for lunch with my husband today at 11:30 am. We walked in, the girl was on the phone taking order, a young Asian man was helping the old lady with her take out orders. We were patiently waiting for our turn to be seated. The young man did not even give us the eye contact, did not even look up to greet us with a hello or welcome in. Both my husband and I were looking at each others to see if we were mistreated by him. It seemed like he was ignoring us the whole time. So we decided to walk out to go to other place to eat. While the old lady was leaving, we opened tge door for her on one side, the young man opened the other side. He at this point still didn’t even look at us, and didn’t even care or ask and let us walk out.
This is not a first time we were treated like this. This place has a horrible customer service. Maybe, workers there were family members so they don’t care ??? If this was a case your restaurant will be out of business soon!!!
We went to CA fish grill near by and the first step in the door, we were greeted with a smile and hello.
Capital noodle bar, Brea- you guys need to train your staff better!!!

This used to be one of our go to places to eat. The food is usually great. But the last few times we've gone the service has been lacking. Today we went in for lunch. My husband and I were only the 3rd group there. We were there for 40 minutes and they hadn't even brought us water. After the 4th group arrived and they got drinks and appetizers and we had still yet to get water we got up and left.
The problem seemed to be the older woman working she seemed to start tasks and then walk away from them. There was a younger woman working that was trying her best but I know it can be hard to do your own job while trying to pull the weight of someone else.
*I would have rather addressed this as an email to the owner or manager but unfortunately was unable to locate one online.

This is a nice little spot with fits eats. The service is OK, but can be better. The server is nice and friendly, but they need 1 more server and it would be better. There is always only 1 actual server. Which makes the wait to get anything extra or to ask for anything else annoyingly timely. Especially when you're ready for the check and/or a to go container.
They don't have any sort of spicy/hot sauce here, (i.e. Sriracha, hot chili sauce...). There is only jalapeños or chili oil. The chili oil isn't hot and I don't like jalapeños with my wontons or potstickers.
However, even with these small things, the food is delicious and is cooked to order. I do recommend coming in and trying Capital Noodle Bar for yourself. I'm sure you enjoy the food and atmosphere.

Was looking for a new place to eat, glad we decided on this restaurant. It was empty inside for a Sunday, thought it was closed. Everyone seems to order to go but I’d say the presentation of the dishes it’s a must to dine in.
Food is great, service is great, the price is great for the quality of food and quantity. New favorite spot, worthy of seconds.

Try the spicy trio beef noodles with flat rice noodle. Legit savory bomb. Hainan chicken rice is good, but order dark meat. Smack yourself if you're gonna go in and order chicken breast. Try the shu mai. It's decently good. Got a heavier hint of sweetness and sesame oil. Southern Chinese taste.

They are pretty good about them initial order but almost no table visits to give more water. Block wood seats have no cushions or back support so my wife and I found that very uncomfortable. Food was good but not great. Two small things that bugged me was there is no Chinese mustard which I like to have with dim sum and no artificial sweeteners of any kind for the tea.

The food was pretty good. They only had pork dumplings and my kids prefer chicken so they didn’t love the ones they tried. They had plain noodle soup and ate some chicken potstickers. 🥟
We were seated right away and the ambiance is nice. Tables are long rectangles so not as convenient for family style as round tables but I get that they save space. We passed food back and forth when serving ourselves so everyone could get what they needed (we had a party of 8).
I was fine with the chow fun and other noodles. The juicy pork dumplings were decent but I don’t know if I would get them again. They are like XLB and there wasn’t as much flavor as other places I’ve tried. I think the chicken potstickers were okay as well. The noodle wrapper was quite thick and they were pan fried but already soft when they came out as if they had sat there instead of being crispy.
Overall, service was fine and the food was fine. If we had to choose noodles, for dinner we may come back.

Friendly staff, tasteless food. The broth for noodles was flavorless the meat was tough. Pork buns had parts of unmixed powdery chunks in the dough. And the basic noodles lacked any flavor and were over cooked. :(

1st time here. Was very tasty!! Will go again.
The only complaint for me was the seating. Mostly benches, which I can't sit on for very long as a bad back.
The young man who was our server was super good.

A Heartwarming Trio of Beef Noodle Soup
If you're a fan of rich, flavorful, and comforting meals, this trio of beef noodle soup is an absolute must-try. Each bowl is a testament to the art of balancing bold flavors, tender textures, and aromatic spices, making it a truly unforgettable dining experience.
The classic version is a timeless delight. The broth is deeply savory, with a robust beefy flavor that’s been simmered to perfection. The tender slices of beef melt in your mouth, while the chewy noodles provide the perfect contrast in texture. A hint of star anise and ginger adds a subtle warmth, making every spoonful a comforting embrace. This bowl is a nostalgic nod to tradition, executed flawlessly.
