The best Mexican food we've found in the area. I'm from San Antonio and my wife is from East L.A. So, no strangers to authentic Mexican food.We have lived in the Diamond Bar/Walnut area for 40-years. We've eaten at De Oro many times, tried many different menu items, and we have never been disappointed.I realize people have different tastes in food, different expectations, and different experiences when dining out. I feel bad for the folks who had a disappointing experience at De Oro.The staff is always friendly towards us and if they are busy and running slow, they apologize to us and bring us more tortilla chips. We know if there are a lot of customers or if they have a lot of to-go orders, it's going to take more time than usual. We are old and retired, but not everyone has the time or patience to wait and they leave a negative review. We have tried many Mexican restaurants in the area. I won't mention the ones we didn't like because, it's a matter of personal taste.Xavi's in Chino Hills was my favorite, but I haven't eaten there since before the pandemic. I expect they are still great. Pepe's in Hacienda Heights, The Durango in Brea (they didn't survive the 2020 shut down), the big Juancho's restaurant in Ontario (I don't know if they are still there), the small Juancho's cafe in Chino Hills is good for a quick take-out (they used to be better before Covid and they had to remove the "help yourself" bean pot), The Whole Enchilada in Diamond Bar before the demographics changed causing them to shut down, and Kalaveras. I can't be sure if it's the food I like or the atmosphere. I always have fun no matter which one I eat at, but I particularly like the small hole-in-the-wall one in Montebello. If anyone knows a better place in the area for Mexican food, I'd like to know.

Most of my take out order was wrong and the phone was busy when I tried to call. Total rip off.

The "mole poblano" is not mole poblano, it is mole rojo. I am from Puebla and this does not taste like mole from Puebla. Don't confuse people. Call it what it is!This "mole poblano" is not mole poblano. It's red mole. I'm from Puebla and this doesn't taste like mole poblano. Don't confuse your customers. Call it what it is.. it's not bad. It's just not mole poblano.P.S. It doesn't taste bad. Only it's not mole poblano

It was terrific. We really enjoyed the food. Very clean. The cleanest restroom and restaurant we have been to in a long time.

Worst Menudo I've ever had, not cleaned, greasy....nasty!

As food choices go this has to be the closest to eating at my grandma’s table. We so enjoyed the fresh menudo and the chorizo in salsa verde with nopales and eggs. Looking forward to a return visit to try the tamales!

I love coming here on my lunch break either alone or with other coworkers the service is great the food is even better and the Micheladas I drive about 30 minutes from my home just to get one or two definitely a must-have if you're in the area I think I have it about twice a week if possible the burritos are bomb filled with rice beans salsa really good meat one negative I would say is that they add lettuce to it but you can just ask them to not put it in before you order
