Tried Sushi Club Izakaya in Brea recently and overall had a solid experience. The space is on the smaller side, which makes it feel a bit more intimate, and service was attentive without being over the top. We ordered the Fresh Prince Roll, Chicken Meatball Kushiyaki, A5 Wagyu Steak, Soft Shell Crab, Uni Sushi, and the Trust Me Sashimi (20 pcs). The A5 wagyu was easily the highlight for me — super tender and rich, pretty much melted as soon as you ate it. The soft shell crab was also done really well, nice texture and not greasy. The uni sushi topped with caviar stood out too, definitely one of the more memorable bites of the night. The sashimi tasted fresh across the board, and portions felt fair for the quality. It’s not the cheapest dinner, but you can tell they’re focused on sourcing good fish. I’d come back, especially when I’m in the mood for higher quality cuts and a slightly nicer sit-down meal in the area.

Drove 20 minutes and arrived at 9:25 pm, but was told the kitchen was already closed even though your hours show you’re open until 10 pm. I understand things happen, but it would be helpful if service hours were updated to reflect actual kitchen closing times.

Tried Sushi Club Izakaya in Brea and it absolutely lived up to the hype. From start to finish, everything we ordered was solid.

We started with fresh oysters, truffle fries, and crispy rice with spicy tuna. The Japanese A5 Wagyu entrée came out sizzling and was cooked perfectly. It was incredibly tender and melt-in-your-mouth, easily the best wagyu we’ve had.

The highlight of the night was the sashimi tray. The fish was extremely fresh, especially the uni, yellowtail, and tuna. You can really taste the quality here. We also tried several rolls, including the 911 Roll, Baked Blue Crab Roll, and Albacore Crispy Onion Roll. Each roll was well-balanced, flavorful, and had a great mix of texture and crunch without being overloaded.

Dessert was the perfect finish with tempura fried ice cream and a refreshing yuzu sorbet, which helped balance out the richness of the meal.

Overall, Sushi Club Izakaya delivers high-quality Japanese food, great variety, and an elevated dining experience. If you’re a sushi lover or looking for a new spot in Brea, this place is definitely worth checking out. We’ll definitely be back.

Sushi was pretty good but we drove way out of the way to come here for the happy hour specials. Was told the menu was being reworked and they had no happy hour right now. Felt they could have maybe worked us a deal. Would consider coming back if they bring back the happy hour

Sushi Club in Brea is a hidden gem — 5 stars without hesitation!

The cozy, intimate setting makes it feel special and relaxing, like a perfect escape. Service was outstanding: warm, efficient, and genuinely caring — big shoutout to Jennifer for making our dine-in experience even better.

Food was fresh, high-quality, and presented beautifully. Highlights:
- Trust Me Sashimi (20 pcs): The star! Served in an elegant 3x3 box, every slice was insanely fresh and flavorful.
- A5 Wagyu Entrée: Melt-in-your-mouth tender with that rich, juicy texture — pure indulgence.
- VIP Salmon & Tuna Sushi, Yuzu Dai Crudo, 911 Roll, Hamachi Jalapeño Roll
- Kushiyaki skewers: Prime Beef, Chicken, Kurobuta Pork, and Bacon Asparagus — all perfectly charred and delicious.

Rounded out with Iced Green Tea. Every bite was spot-on. Highly recommend for sushi lovers — we'll be back soon! 🍣

I've been going to this place on and off since it opened. The food is absolutely fantastic. I had a wonderful lunch there yesterday (homosaki + 4pc chef's choice nigiri lunch special) and it was fantastic. Asia greeted me when I arrived and provided excellent service! This is probably my favorite sushi place in the area I just wish it was closer to home!

Easily one of the worst Japanese places I’ve ever been to. I’m convinced people are only here because everywhere closes early (we came at 8:30 pm) and the good reviews are from their friends.

First, it’s very clear that this is a new establishment because we did not have any silverware, napkins or plates at the table, and they plopped down our food without giving us any. When we flagged them down for some, they just said “oh” and went to get some without apologizing.

Second, nothing tastes good. The shrimp tempura tasted like it had been pre-frozen and reheated (batter was not light and crispy). The tuna cut roll had a comically large amount of stale old rice (tasted like they’d left the rice uncovered in the fridge for 3 days). The uni pasta lacked any sort of flavor besides a hint of pepper; there was no salt, no briny taste, nothing. If you want a good uni pasta, head to Jinbei.

If this place doesn’t pick up their game, I don’t see them lasting very long.

Sushi was ok, sloppy put together by what seemed like a first time sushi chef, uni pasta was god awful. The fish was fresh at least but the rice seemed old. Won't be back anytime soon.
