I recently visited Taps in Brea for brunch on Father's Day, and unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst meals I've had to date. I had high hopes for Taps, as they used to be known for their fantastic brunch, but my recent experience left a lot to be desired.First and foremost, the service was extremely slow. It took an eternity for our drinks to arrive, and even longer for our utensils to arrive. The staff seemed overwhelmed and understaffed, which resulted in a lack of attentiveness and a frustratingly long waits.I was disappointed to find that alot of the food lacked flavor. It felt like the dishes were hastily put together without much attention to taste or seasoning. The brunch classics that I was looking forward to, such as salmon, oysters and scallops, were constantly running out, leaving me disappointed and craving for more.To make matters worse, the omelet bar was left unattended for a significant amount of time. It was disappointing to see a crucial part of the brunch experience neglected, especially when it is a prominent feature of Taps' brunch. The restaurant was overly crowded, which only added to the chaotic atmosphere. The noise level was high, and it was difficult to carry on a conversation without raising our voices. The lack of space and the overwhelming number of patrons made for an uncomfortable dining experience. While I understand that being short-staffed can be a challenge, it's not an excuse for such a subpar dining experience. Taps used to be a go-to spot for brunch, but based on my recent visit, I cannot recommend it anymore. On a positive note, I have to mention that Taps does have a nice weekday happy hour, which might be worth considering. However, when it comes to their brunch, the quality and service do not match the price. I hope that Taps can address the issues I encountered during my visit and regain its reputation for serving a memorable and delicious brunch.Overall, if you're looking for a brunch spot in Brea, I would recommend exploring other options before considering Taps.

I recently read an article from the OC Register that the owners closed all locations as of 7/7/23. I hope they come back with a new concept that will have live music (Sunday Jazz Brunch) and provide great service as they did way before the pandemic happened.

TAPS was closed. We found out when we showed up for our reservation and a sign was posted on the front door that they were CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Now news articles are coming out that TAPS has closed all their businesses.

We booked a reservation using this service while visiting LA county for the weekend. Taps had a special place in our heart, and we were thrilled to see they were still in business. After a 90 min trip in LA traffic, we arrived to see signs stating the company was closed on 7 July and nobody took the time to inform those who had a reservation of this change. It is very unprofessional, regardless of the situation to take a reservation and not follow up to inform parties of a closure.

THEY WERE CLOSED. No email or call to let us know. My family and I were celebrating my moms bday and last minute had to call around for a reservation. Worst experience. So embarrassing
Showed up for our reservation on 7/7 that we had made several weeks ago and found the place closed with a sign on the door saying closed indefinitely. Later read that all 5 TAPS locations were closed. Had to scramble to find another steak and seafood restaurant for my dad's birthday celebration last minute.

Love taps and the wonderful atmosphere. Our server was super nice but kept getting our order wrong. First by not putting our order in and forgetting we even ordered with him at all, then doubling our order (we ordered a half dozen oysters but a dozen came out), and then by keeping the bacon with the salmon despite our request for no bacon. The bacon was chopped up and not easily identifiable in the plate....I haven't had meat outside of fish in 26 years so it was pretty upsetting.

Two of us ordered the Chilean Sea Bass which we've had before at TAPS and were happy with it. What we were served on 7/1/23 was a very disappointing, a tougher white fish that we suspected was not Chilean Sea Bass. It was too tough to be what we ordered. Even the other friend ordered a fish sandwich and wasn't happy with it because the aioli was too spicy. So we may not be choosing TAPS again when we're hungry for fish and waste $45 for very poor quality fish.

The service was not good. Having to ask 3 times for a round of drinks was not acceptable. We also had to ask for the complimentary bread 2 times and it finally showed up after our meal was finished. In addition we had to ask for water refills. Overall the service was not at all what it should be. A bit disappointing.

We had a delicious lunch. The lobster roll and shrimp Po Boy were both very tasty. Loved the garlic fries. The Caesar salad was a winner too. We each had a house lager which was very good. I was a bit disappointed in our waiter however. When we ordered our sandwiches, he asked if we would like the Caesar or clam chowder. He phrased it, in our opinion, as though it came with the meal. While he never expressly said the meal includes a soup or salad, it really came across that way. We both thought this. When I noticed the two salads on the bill, I questioned him and after some discussion, he removed both salads from the bill. We will come back again despite this misunderstanding.
