We always stopped There every time we ride our motorcycles up to kern to get some food is great. I had a little incident there today, but I’ll tell you what the owner is an unbelievable guy after I had my little incident he came outside to talk to me and made it all right the guy is amazing. I will keep coming back. They’re amazing people and the food is great. Customer service from the owner was amazing.

10/10 this hidden gem is worth the drive!! The schoolhouse is really cool you have to come experience it! The atmosphere is unmatched! Food is delicious 😋 and the staff are the sweetest! Highly recommend!!

This is a fantastic little historic gem in the foothills about 45 minutes east of Bakersfield (off of the Hwy 58) and about 45 min south of Lake Isabella on Caliente Creek Rd… excellent food, wonderful servers in a modernized yet still time period accurate 100 year old school house. I especially appreciate that the original chalk boards are still there and they even supply chalk for the kiddos to use! Complete with an indoor bar, two big screen tv’s (with the volume set at a comfortable level) an outdoor patio and the finishing touch is the multiple horseshoe pits with shoes supplied by the house! Top that all off with a beautiful scenic drive along the Caliente Creek complete with a seasonal waterfall about halfway up to the Schoolhouse. Easily one of my most favorite places around!

One of the worst meals that we've EVER had in our lives. I had the fish & chips, and my daughter had the veggie burger. They were HORRIBLE!!! The fish was covered in a gummy batter, the fries were cold and hard. The tarter sauce came in a little packet, and it was awful. The veggie burger was hard and flavorless. The coffee sucked!
We drove all the way up to Twin Oaks because we read on Facebook that the French fries are hand cut. It's not worth going thete, no matter the distance. Simply put, an extremely disappointing dining experience.
The service was okay. The table was sticky and filthy. Never again!
They hosted our wedding rehearsal at the restaurant and catered our wedding. The food was sooooo good and we got so many compliments!! The staff is always friendly. Thank you so much ❤️
