Golden Bamboo Restaurant

We should have known what it was going to be like right from the parking lot. Walk in and feel a presence of old decor which hasn't been updated in 30+ years. Open coolers in the dining room, were these from when the power went out? Why are they there? Old bubble gum machines, old everything but not in a good way. We relied on the 4.6 google review. Food was nasty. Chicken app was tiny and burnt. Seafood soup was overspiced and unedible. The owners need to update this place. Fast food is a safer option (unfortunately). To the owner... its time to make an investment in this place.

Don’t be fooled by the appearance
We stopped here during a road trip and at first I was hesitant. The food was fire, the guy working was more than friendly.
We’re from the LA area if that counts towards ‘eating out experience.’

Wonderful spot for a date, the server was so incredibly nice and made sure we had delicious food, fresh drinks, and all the utensils we would need. We felt so comfortable and stayed longer than we planned because we enjoyed it so much.

Ray was so amazing! It was 8:15pm and he took our huge party of 12! He was so sweet, gracious and welcoming. And the food!!!! Seriously some of the BEST Thai food I’ve ever had!!! Can’t recommend enough!!!! ??

They have the best peanut dressing. It makes me want to eat more salads.

We are on a road trip across the SW of the USA and are overnighting in Mojave.
We did a little Googling looking for somewhere to eat and stumbled on The Golden Bamboo Restaurant so decided to have our evening meal there.
We pulled up and went inside to find the place quirky, clean and a little run down - that is the only bad thing that I can find to say about the next hour.
The guy single-handedly running the joint on a Monday evening was busy with a large order, but he took the time to provide advice and then took our order (items 55 & 67 from the menu) whilst explaining that it might take a little longer than normal to prepare our food.
It took perhaps half an hour, but when it arrived it was well worth the wait - the food was excellent, freshly cooked and delicious.
It was as good as we have had anywhere, and for it to be available in a small dusty town in the middle of nowhere was a major surprise - and a delight.
After completing our meal we had a chat with the guy running the joint and he is a lovely fellow who has a real passion for cooking Thai food - this shows in the quality and service ; if we are ever back in the area we will certainly drop meal in for another meal.
Highly, highly recommended.
