We had an insanely good burrito at the somewhat confusingly named Donut Avenue on Main Street in Calpatria. They do have donuts and pizza... (And my wife said her maple-bacon donut was very good), but they also had the best burrito I've had in years.
My wife ordered the beef (carne asada?) for us to share, and it was delicious... Unctuous, almost creamy with some kind of cheese (I suspect this is what fast food 'queso' seeks and fails to replicate), small bits of crunch... It would remind you in good ways of a Philly Cheese Steak or Greek gyros, but totally Mexican in flavor profile.
Far off the beaten path, but if your travels take to the Salton Sea, well worth a visit!

California Burrito was one of.the best I've ever had or just one of the best I've had in a long, long time! Shoutout to my.favorite, I havnt had in forever Albertos! But yea Donut was cool, it was very good, the lady is very serious and doesn't do nonsense pr smile! But the food was superb! Woukd I go back? Without a thought!

Came to kill time while friend visits someone in the prison nearby and I'm glad I did California burrito was perfect in texture and taste got me full just halfway. Also had donut holes and they're pretty good just like ud find at another place. The drink sizes are large for my hands to fit so no complaints. Very clean also.
