Good for the older crowd

Traveling Pals is a campsite, not a restaurant.

From check in to check out, it was amazing. The staff make you feel special and are prompt and quick. The restaurant Adobe and 26 had great food. The room service was fast and fresh though they could have more choices on the menu. The nightly entertainment was a fun bonus! We loved the poolside casita which was private and clean (I stayed in the 500s). I can’t wait to stay here again.

Very cozy and welcoming, beautiful grounds and fun style. High quality furnishings and still has a charming old-style (shabby chic in the best way) feeling. The staff was lovely and the massive number of pools available make sunbathing and chilling easy and convenient. I also got to bring my dog everywhere! Very dog friendly area!

It’s been years since I’ve stayed at this property and it is very obvious that little to no upgrades/renovations have been completed since I was last there. Vintage is a quaint way of saying that the poolside casitas are in dire need of refreshing. Everything top to bottom needs refurbishing, and this includes the pools! They are clean but for the price of the Waldorf brand, I really expected something that exceeds the average Doubletree-type quality this property exudes. Onsite restaurants are convenient and food is good but extremely pricey!! Spa services are limited but again, key word is pricey. I will commend staff for absolute professionalism and willingness to provide customer service however on the flip side, an 8am lawnmower directly outside my casita window is unacceptable.

So Clean, beautiful and welcoming room! As I remember for years ago when I first stayed, you have amazing staff so kind, pools are great! Spa is nice also! Also prices are reasonable, minus the room service which I paid $40 for a burger!!! I should have asked the price first, my bad! fridge had ice do that was great!!!! I’ll be back again!!!! Thank you!!

We spent three days (two nights) at the property in late May (25th - 27th) and could not be happier with the choice. I think the staff always went above and beyond with every request. (Note: I am a Hilton Diamond member but I do not think that makes much of a difference - it usually does not.). They were responsive to requests and did a wonderful job of checking in to see what we needed. Our room was part of a building of four rooms (casitas?) and there were four buildings to the small pool we shared - right outside our door. It was a very relaxing experience and almost had an Airbnb type atmosphere- with a lot more amenities! There is a Trader Joe’s nearby (2 miles away)where we grabbed some beverages ( e.g. liquor, beer and wine) and nice munchies for the pool and our room. Other than that we could grab what we needed at the little market on the resort grounds. We did have a meal at the Adobe restaurant one night it was very good and we ate at nearby restaurants as well. While it was just my wife and I, we were thinking this type of resort would be great for an extended family get away where everyone has a little more space. One suggested excursion: we spent one very early morning at Joshua Tree National Park. We left at 6 am and we’re back at the resort by Noon. We entered off route 10 - Cottonwood visitor center and drove through the park exiting via the west entrance (where we paid $30). We did three very quick hikes totaling just under 5 miles that we recommend. (1) Cholla cactus garden .25 miles: (2) skull rock - the full trail 1.7 miles; (3) Boy Scout trail - only to the willow trail - just under 3 mikes for the round trip trek. It was worth the trek to walk in the desert among all of the Joshua trees!

I wanted to surprise my girlfriend with a trip for her birthday and put countless hours into researching the very best place. We generally only stay at amex platinum hotels and resorts when we travel so there’s an expectation for top notch service and I spent HOURS researching all the top platinum hotels, airbnb’s in the area, everything and finally decided to roll the dice on La Quinta Resort even though it isn’t listed as a platinum collection hotel and i’m so glad I did. We booked the starlight casita and couldn’t have been happier with our small dog being able to run around the outside patio and being able to hangout near the fire and watch the stars in the privacy of our own patio. This resort rivals some of the top hotels we’ve stayed at for a fraction of the price. I booked Morgan’s a few weeks in advance to our stay for my girlfriends birthday dinner and she couldn’t have been happier, she said it was the best lamb she’s ever had. Morgan’s was at the same level as restaurant’s we ate at in Four Seasons Costa Rica (where we had to pay $2,700) a night. I wish I could’ve reserved it every night of our stay. We also tried Adobe and while it was good it was definitely not on the same level as Morgan’s Eli at the front desk was our saving grace when we needed anything taken care of, he went above and beyond to make our time at La Quinta resort amazing and he is honestly the reason i’m writing this review. We will definitely be coming back!

I grew up going to La Quinta Resort and Club before it was owned by Waldorf/Hilton and I have fond memories of it from then! My husband and I came here for our first getaway together when we were dating and we come back at least twice a year, usually once in the Summer and always during Christmas time. There's just nothing like it if you know which casitas/areas to book etc. They're super dog friendly, we have 2 small pups that are always well accommodated! Our fur babies get gift boxes and there's plenty of space for them to run around and play. I would recommend staying in the Spa Villas first, then one of the Hideaway casitas if they're available and if neither of those options are available a casita in the 600/700 area, those are the best and the most updated. Their spa is one of my faves of all time They SHINE at Christmas time, it's probably my favorite place to be, they have a gorge Xmas tree when you pull up, sitting outside on the plaza at the Adobe grill listening to live music by the fire having Margaritas is the best!! Morgan's steakhouse is amaze too, great food, vibe and drinks. In the Summer you can get amazing deals, especially on the Spa Villas and you can get drinks and food delivered right to the pool. If you book thru Amex Travel you can get a daily dining credit too.

As part of our stay on an earned Amex Certificate we were promised a $30 credit. I never received the final bill and When I got the bill the credit did not appear. Called the hotel and was told it would be corrected. When i received the final folio, i was credited and debited $30. Called the hotel again and the front desk was rude, could not explain the error and hung up on me. Called the hotel again asked to speak to the GM, its now 2 days and he has not returned my call. An overrated resort, terrible customer service, its sad the rooms were wonderful

The resort itself is massive and set against a beautiful mountain backdrop. Landscaping is wonderful, and the 41 pools give you something new to explore all the time. Some of the older Casitas seem not to have been updated in a while so I’d suggest going for one of the poolside ones. Resort really has everything—so much golf and tennis, nice fitness center, bikes, hikes, spa, good food. The staff is super friendly and helpful too, but they’d seem to be a little short staffed right now due to the pandemic (some areas left messy, like the main pool). And it does feel like they nickel and dime you a bit, which is why I’m only giving 4 stars. $30 to use a tennis court for an hour even when nobody else is there and $24 for an average omelette at breakfast are just not reasonable and the costs add up, especially if you also want to treat yourself to something nice like a massage ($170 for 50 minutes even though the jacuzzi is closed for Covid) or a round of golf ($225 for a morning tee time with club rental). I’d happily stay here again, but next time I’ll be mentally prepared for the actual cost.

My new favorite place in all of Palm Springs area!!! What a gorgeous, relaxing, beautiful retreat from the world outside. From the front desk check in, to the live music on Saturday evening in the courtyard, to pristine tennis and pickleball courts, to the jacuzzi - pools, and beyond...we loved our stay!!! Our room was spotless and comfortable, loved the beds and linens! I slept 10 hours one night...Wow! The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and made us feel that our added requests where "a pleasure" to perform! Can't wait to come back and relax and lounge away in the exceptional resort! Way to go team and many thanks!!!
