Stay away! My friends and I went on a night out in downtown campbell and the bouncers refused to let 2 out of the 4 of us in due to "sports apparel". My friend was wearing a baseball hat and I was wearing a warriors sweatshirt. This place is not upscale or fancy by any means and I was unable to locate a dress code on their website. Our money is good as any and we took it elsewhere. Don't waste your time here.

On January 27th, 2024, while attending a performance by David Harness at Cardiff Lounge, I found myself subjected to discriminatory treatment by two members of the staff - the bartender and a security guard. The issue at hand pertains to the enforcement of the dress code policy, which mandated that I wear a jacket over my cut-off t-shirt. Despite expressing discomfort and concerns about overheating, both staff members were unwavering in their insistence on the jacket, citing the prohibition of shirts with cut-off sleeves. In seeking clarification on this policy, I observed the presence of female-presenting patrons freely wearing tube tops, tank tops, and crop tops without facing similar restrictions. Shockingly, the security guard explicitly stated that the dress code policy applied exclusively to men, and women were exempt from such restrictions. Upon disclosing my non-binary identity and seeking clarification on the dress code for non-binary individuals, his response was alarming and derogatory. In a frightening and demeaning tone, he insisted on discussing the matter outside, addressing me with a derogatory slur: "Let's go outside, [derogatory term]." To avoid further escalation, I reluctantly complied with the dress code, wearing the jacket for a brief period. However, the discomfort and humiliation I endured during this incident have left a lasting impact, casting doubt on the inclusivity of Cardiff Lounge. Regrettably, I now find myself hesitant to revisit this establishment. It is crucial to emphasize that, at the time of the incident, I had not consumed alcohol, caused any disturbance, or engaged in any disruptive behavior within the premises. I was merely enjoying the music with three friends in a corner of the venue. Furthermore, four witnesses present during this incident can corroborate the events as described. Furthermore, I have brought this matter to the attention of Cardiff Lounge's owner, but to date, I have not received any response from him.

Enjoyed this place for the first time for a friends birthday party and had a blast , the drinks were cool , ambience was nice , good people , excellent DJs and music couldn't go wrong with awesome DJ Jojo and my all time Favorite DJ David Harness , house music heaven . We had a great night .

Went for the music and dancing on a regular Saturday night. Very diverse crowd, different age groups enjoying, and great vibe. Not always a fan of deep house but the energy in the room was very fun, and the djs mixed it up with some progressive house and other higher tempo beats. Overall my friend and I had an amazing time. Ended up staying an hour longer than planned.

Really great staff from the door staff to the bar staff. Which is why the 4 stars but the music was too loud to hear what anyone was saying and the DJ was playing house nothing to get you up and dancing it didnt warm you up then bring you down and up again was just the same tempo the whole time. The vibe was nice the people were friendly and the drinks were expensive.$30 for a shot and 1 drink with a mixer maybe that's normal but for me it's definitely not.

I've been going to Cardiff since I was in my early 20s my memories of the place are great but the security that work the door now, made some inappropriate jokes in front of the entire line , that changed the tone of my night. I used to love this spot but I can't recommend the place anymore.

It's a small bar tucked away in the middle of the downtown Campbell strip. Staff and security are polite and knowledgeable, drink prices are right at the median for that area. Please tip well and behave yourself!
The club is so small. It feels so tight and crowded. And it's a much more mature/older crowd than normal clubs in SJ or SF. Resident DJs are not great.

My friends and I are all 22 years old and the bouncer didn’t let in one of my friends because he thought his ID was fake. From the beginning the bouncer had issues with us for no apparent reason whatsoever. What’s even funnier is that he let in our friends that were girls with no issue which, if you ask me, is really creepy. Management was outside and didn’t seem to care at all.If you are in Campbell looking for a bar, literally go anywhere else. Poor management, poor bouncing, and pretty much empty inside for the brief moments we were in there. Not worth anyone’s time.
