A little gem in downtown Campbell that our local friends recommended. Parking was not easy. After looking around a bit we finally found parking on street about 5 minutes away. We went on a Saturday night and it was packed, reservations only. It was a vibrant and beautiful place, albeit very small with only a few tables inside and some outdoor. The drinks were very creative and pretty. My margarita fresca with watermelon juice and two water melon balls rolled in salt and chili flakes was surprisingly a great combination, although the drink itself tasted a bit bland. The enchiladas verde was served artistically and tasted heavenly, with very flavorful and moist chicken meats inside that almost melt in your mouth. They allow you to mix and match the street tacos and we sample all three with meats. The al pastor one was tasty, and the steak one was good too but for some reason it tasted slightly bitter to me. Crispy fish tacos had beautiful presentation and were a hit! Overall it’s a great place with a whimsical twist on Mexican food and drinks, a little pricey for tacos but you pay for the ambience and artistry of the chef and mixologists.Parking: Downtown Campbell can get very busy on weekends and the nearby public parking lots get filled up quickly. Street parking is possible near the historic water tower.Kid-friendliness: It is more a date place than a family restaurant.

We arrived on Friday night without a reservation for 4 people and we were a little surprised at the 2 hour wait, but after trying to get in to other restaurants on the street, quickly realized it was a standard wait time. We are SO glad we waited! Distrito Federal is an absolute gem! It is small but MIGHTY! The cocktails are the best we've EVER had! If Lucid Dreams is ever removed from the menu, I think we will be physically ill! It's indescribable and the difficulty to craft it with the complexity of the brewing, fermentation, and purification is worth the wait (the cocktails take time to be delivered to the table), the money, and the chance you might be a bit tipsy after drinking it! It's the cleanest, smoothest, softest, most delicious blend of multiple different alcohols you'll ever taste. You CANNOT taste any alcohol. It is just lovely. The Cure for the Cause is ALSO FANTASTIC! It is so complex that you cannot identify the different flavors on your tongue at any given time. It is also a blend of multiple ingredients that are so balanced It's unreal. It's no wonder the Mixologist is award winning! They can also make wonderful mocktails if anyone in your group isn't drinking (too bad they are missing out in the real thing!). ;) Now, let's get to the food. I personally don't eat red meat or pork, nor can I eat cilantro so I was a bit of a complex customer for the chef. Most items are marinated in cilantro or it cannot be removed from the item so just know going in that it might be a little challenging to find an item but once you do it will be FABULOUS! We were all beyond satisfied with everything that was ordered and cannot wait to return! Everything was fresh, flavorful, crisp when it should be, soft when it should be, generous portions, and had the perfect amount of heat. The desserts were tasty as well but what stood out were the churros!!! DELICIOUS!!!

He is a doll and makes you feel so welcome!! We truly loved our experience and can't wait to return. ❤️❤️❤️ Words for the wise, this is not really a place for children if you are able to get a sitter do so and enjoy! It's adult food and adult drinks and the space is very small so family night might be better elsewhere.

Our second visit to Distrito Federal - on our first visit we had been invited to join friends and enjoyed it so decided to go again with some out of town visitors. Its a small place and gets busy so best to book in advance. One of our party was gluten free so we stopped by before our reservation to check the menu and one of the hosts was super helpful and walked through GF items with us. The food is mixture of standard mexican offerings like enchiladas / street tacos but a couple of different items and specials. All the food was good - I had cauliflower tostadas which were a bit different (they also have ahi tuna which I had on the previous visit) and the rest of the group had more standard chicken / pork tacos. They have some interesting cocktails - our friend tried the carrot margarita and as he was a bit uncertain the server bought over a second cocktail (pistachio martini) for free in case he didnt like it. The vibe is quite buzzy/chic with dim lighting and as the inside is small it can get noisy so this may not be for everyone, but I think this is a place where you feel like you are having a proper evening out, rather than just going for dinner. I probably would give 5 stars for experience but mark down to 4 as it is a little on the pricy side.

I'm so excited about this new little gem in Campbell! The vibe is great.. the food is great.. the drinks were yummmm! We ordered way too much for the for of us, but we finished it all and were super content leaving! The street corn was creamy and flavorful. The Hamachi shots were a surprise on the menu and delicious. Guacamole was fresh and right level of spicy.Street tacos, order the beef (steak) - you won't be disappointed. The enchilada was very tasty and a very safe choice.

Super cool spot. The establishment offers good eats, good craft cocktails and good vibes. There’s indoor seating, outdoor seating, and bar seating. We had a pretty early reservation at 6:30pm for a Friday night and it was semi busy with what may be the happy hour crowd (although I don’t know if they actually offer happy hour). Around 8pm, it was starting to get pretty crowded.Upon arrival, we sat outside while they cleaned our table for indoor seating. The waitress asked if we preferred indoors or outdoors, so we decided to stay outdoors since the weather was nice. Shortly after we received our tequila shots, a gentleman asked if we want to move inside so we would not be rushed. We were not sure what he meant as most 4-person reservations are allotted two hours to dine. He explained that there was a 7:30pm reservation and that if we moved inside, where we were supposed to be originally, we wouldn’t have to rush. The group decided we didn’t care if we sat indoors or outdoors, but given the fact that if we moved inside, there’d be no rush, we decided to go back indoors. Well, 1.5 hours later, after finishing our food and ordering our 3rd cocktail, we were told by the waitress that there was another party waiting. We were like, “Wait, didn’t you move us inside, so we didn’t have to rush out?” CONFUSING. Our host is a regular so he didn’t say anything other than, “We are planning to have dessert, so please bring us a dessert menu when you can.”As mentioned, food was good, drinks were good, and the ambiance is lively. I still plan to go back but this mishap with rushing people out and moving them around was slightly annoying. It made no sense as you cannot expect a party of four to dine and dash in 1.5 hours. General rule of thumb is 1.5 hours for two and 2-2.5 hours for parties of four.Other than that, we had a great time. This is in Downtown Campbell, so parking is sparse. Plan to park at a distance and walk over unless you just get lucky and are able to find a spot on the main drag.

We went for an early dinner so it was pretty quiet in there, but I know it can get a little noisy on weekend nights. The service was good, the drinks were good and the food was delicious. My only complaint was they had to keep the front door open and it was cold and windy out, so it was a bit chilly inside. They did eventually turn the heater on, but it still never got warm enough to take my jacket off. Other than that it was a good experience overall.

Went on a Wednesday around 5:30 pm. We were seated right away. The inside seating area is just one small room and many tables and the bar area were already taken. The outside patio has heaters and you can enjoy the downtown feels.Service was great! Our waitress was efficient and kind. The manager (assuming here) never stopped moving the whole evening. He was here and there and everywhere. Always making sure that everyone had what they needed, whether it was the staff or the patrons.I felt like the cocktails we got were just so-so; a little bland, but pretty. The al pastor street tacos were better once adding the lime included. The crispy fish tacos needed the lime also, in my opinion.Even though I'm only giving it a 3-star review, I think it has potential. It wasn't a bad experience at all. Perhaps if we would have sat outside and had different dishes it could have been a 4.

They provided excellent service with attentive staff and prompt attention. While the food was decent, it didn't quite reach exceptional levels. However, their selection of drinks was impressive and complemented the overall dining experience nicely! I would give them a 3.5 stars.

My husband and I are full-time working parents of a 5 y/o and 1 y/o. He works Tuesday-Sunday; I work Monday-Friday. We rarely get a chance to go out childless. This evening was one of those lucky days. The food was very good for the most part. We had some cocktails, the Mex street corn, hamachi shots, bao buns, and Al pastor tacos. Chefs kiss! The caesar salad was good but needs some improvement (lettuce leaves need to be loosened up and more dressing). The waitress was lovely. My issue was how we were basically kicked out because they needed the table. Our reservation was for 545. We showed up on-time, if not 5 min late. We ordered, ate, but my husband was still hungry because we shared all the dishes. He asked for the menu, but the waitress came back and said they needed the table for a 715 reservation. It was 645! We had only been there for an hour and they basically rushed us out of there. The reservation website clearly stated you had max 2 hours to eat. We got an hour?! The waitress brought the check instantly, and started picking up dishes while I was still trying to finish my cocktail. It felt extremely rude. Not blaming the waitress, she was just following orders I'm assuming. I don't understand why they would treat patrons like that especially those who ordered plenty, and were prepared to spend more money at the restaurant. Way to ruin our one and only chance this month to go out and enjoy a lovely evening with my husband. The food was good, but not sure we will return after the way we were treated. Husband and I went down to Willard Hicks and spent couple more hundred bucks there to salvage our evening. Guess they don't care about loosing customers, money, and bigger tips for their waiters. Do better Distrito.
