Ice cream is very good but pricey now
Foster’s Freeze has been a nostalgic staple in the San Jose–Campbell area for as long as I can remember. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and every visit still brings back the same old-school charm — the glowing neon, the walk-up window, and the unmistakable smell of classic burgers and soft-serve cones.
Their chili cheese fries are the real deal — perfectly saturated with just the right balance of chili and melted cheese, comfort food at its finest. The malts and shakes are consistently delicious, though I sometimes wish they were a touch thicker — but honestly, that just adds to the old-fashioned feel that makes this place what it is.
Foster’s Freeze isn’t just a stop for a sweet tooth; it’s a piece of local history. If you grew up in this area, chances are you’ve shared a memory or two here — first dates, after-school treats, or late-night ice-cream runs. It’s one of those rare spots that never loses its soul.
If you’re craving a taste of classic California nostalgia, this is a must-visit.
Food and service was good but the price seemed a bit high for a fast food. Paid more then at a sit down restaraunt.
Good ice creams! And they're open till very late night.
I like this place until they started charging $1.50 to use chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla and the twisters. What a total rip off and they don’t even warn you you see it on your receipt.
Great hours exceptional service food is always hot go to staple
Everything tasted decent, but I was stunned to watch an employee heat up pre-made burger patties on the grill, then assemble my burger, wrap it, and put the whole thing in a microwave.
Corn dogs were find, Sundae was good. Asked an employee for 3 extra cherries and the Manager got upset and wanted to charge me over $1 per extra cherry. Seriously? Could get a whole bottle of cherries for $3, there’s really no need to be so frugal with them.
This place is old schoo. I mean good as it ever was. High school kids working there. Kinda feels like the 70s
Older gentleman @ window..very rude. Will NEVER come back

Amazing half-n-half cone 🤤
This is a wonderful little ice cream shop I stopped by while I stayed one night in San Jose. Beware! The line can get long. I like the fact the place is open late, thus catering to a variety of audiences who like to stay up later at night. The shake was great. There wasn't anything else to mention, except the fact the prices have gotten so high in the last few years (no fault of foster's freeze of their own).
Fav ice cream spot
Orange crush freeze for the win. Or a triple berry milkshake q ų
