Best barbecue I’ve ever had outside of the Carolinas. I love how Tuggamomma and her husband get creative with sides. The barbecue twinkies (think a jalapeño popper with meat in it) is PHENOMENAL. I also loved the smoked mashed potatoes. Tuggamomma herself is super nice. She had me try a couple sides before ordering.

Great customer service with exceptional food. My family of 7 ate for a wonderful price. The proprietor has great down to earth customer service. He was very helpful and provided samples of the food which allowed us to know exactly what we wanted to order. The ribs were extremely tender and tasty. My favorite was the potato salad. It was delicious and very fresh. You will not be disappointed. You need some Tuggamomma in your life!

Hands down the BEST BBQ I’ve ever eaten! I’m from Texas so we have some pretty tasty stuff! The smoke flavor in the meat has depth and just the right amount of flavor - I had pulled pork and brisket. Both were incredibly tender. The potato salad is homemade and like nothing I’ve eaten before with chunks of egg making it oh so good! If you’re in the area, definitely stop by! Lunch was so good we bought “dinner to go”! I wish I would have taken a photo to share - it was finger lickin’ good! We had gone to the train museum for a Halloween festivity and they were “popped up” there - I will be telling family and friends who travel to the area ALL ABOUT IT and highly recommend stopping in! I will absolutely crave this food so I might have to make the 1+ hour drive just for it bc it’s totally worth it!!!
Dietary restrictions: I have dairy (no egg allergy) and gluten allergies and had no problems with the potato salad, brisket, or pulled pork. Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce is gluten free and that’s what they had!

Exceptional BBQ! We came to Campo to see the train museum and happily found the best BBQ,only an hour east of San Diego!!!! We tried Everything on the menu (except the coleslaw), the pork ribs, smoked brisket, chunky delish mashed potatoes, a lil spicy Mac-n-cheese & baked beans with bacon & brown sugar, all had been perfectly seasoned. We will definitely be back!

Were out for a drive and stopped in, not knowing anything about this place. So happy we stopped. The owners are so sweet, and welcomed us in, gave us samples so we could decide what we wanted, and then fed us a great meal! We had the pulled pork - recommend! - and the beans are really good too.

Sunday drive thru the east country mountains and google were to eat, and stop at the Tuggamomma Smokehouse.The food it's great recommend the ribs, better than those near the sports arena..The lady that took our order real friendly, nice, and made us feel like home.
Parking: Near the gas station, it shares parking with other bussiness
