So, you need to eat here. Lorena D’s has been open for 2 years. I’m sorry it took me so long. Family owned and operated. With love. I’ll be back again and again.

What a delightful find while I was visiting the area. It might look like a dive bar from the outside, but inside there’s a chill cozy vibe, warm and attentive service, and delicious food! I got the jumbo burrito with pork chile verde, rice, beans, and guacamole inside and wet (salsa and melted cheese) on the outside, and omg it was so flavorful and filling! A well-prepared skinny margarita with tajin rim rounded out the meal. Check it out if you’re in the area!

We ordered the Party Tray for a gathering of 10, and it was a HUGE hit! The variety was perfect—something for everyone. The mini bean & cheese burritos were warm, cheesy, and comforting. The chicken taquitos and chimichangas (cut in half, so plenty to go around) were crispy, golden, and packed with flavor. The chicken was seasoned to perfection, so much great flavor. The potato tacos were a nice surprise—hearty and delicious, they reminded me of my dear mom’s tacos😍 The mini hard-shell chicken tacos were super delish and added the perfect crunch.
The portions were generous and exactly as described, with plenty of food to feed our group of 10. The tray also came with 8oz each of salsa, guacamole, and sour cream—fresh, flavorful, and the ideal accompaniments. Everything was neatly packed, easy to serve, and displayed beautifully, until we were ready to dig in.
If you’re hosting a party, family get-together, or office lunch, this Party Tray is a winner. Great value, amazing flavors, and it made our event stress-free. I got so many compliments on how delicious everything was… I Highly recommend!

Delicious
Hidden gem! Real authentic Mexican food. The place almost looks like a dive bar at first glance but is clean and cozy. Food is top notch quality. I've gotten the carne asada wet burrito here twice and highly recommend it. Usually you get poor quality beef in these types of big burritos that is too chewy, but not here. Just be ready to drop $20 on a burrito. But you are getting what you pay for, delicious quality and a huge portion. They have a full bar and the house margarita is good but strong (not complaining haha). Looking forward to trying more of their menu.
Staff is super friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have a good experience.

Lorena D’s is a fantastic family owned restaurant in Canyon Country with amazing service and even better food! The margaritas are so delicious and the tacos are my favorite ever. The portion sizes are large and every kind of meat they have is to die for. I definitely recommend anyone looking for great Mexican food to come and enjoy Lorena D’s! Our waitress was so sweet and so attentive, bringing us their different salsas for us to try and letting us know about their amazing happy hour deals! We love this place and will continue to support this great restaurant!

This place is hands down the best Mexican food in Santa Clarita. My entire family loves this place, and the only drawback is when we crave Lorena’s on a Monday, because they are closed. The food is delicious. The margaritas are the best I’ve ever had (and I am a self admitted margarita snob) The best part is the ambience. This is a family establishment, and they make you feel like you are one of their kin. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Lorena and her crew are top-notch, and I love them to pieces. Thanks to Lorena and crew for being a part of our family.

I've lived in the SCV since 1987, and while there's no shortage of Mexican restaurants here, Lorena D's stands out! Whether it's the tacos, tamales, taquitos, burritos, or tostadas (and yes, we've had them all), everything is consistently fresh and delicious. Their carnitas is the best in the SCV: so tender and flavorful. The staff, led by the lovely Lorena, is always so welcoming, friendly and efficient. We love supporting this exceptional woman-owned business, truly serving the best Mexican food in the region.
My favorite place to go in Santa Clarita

Dont trust menu prices visible on google, inflation is apparently very real. Food was decent, and service was actually fantastic too; both the waitress and the manager were very attentive. HOWEVER...: $4.75 for a side (~1/4 cup) of pico de gallo, and $3.75 for a spoonful of sour cream to go with a green burrito (chile verde pork) that honestly should've come with those *condiments* anyway, with no mention of those prices before the bill. Absolutely insane to charge $8.50 for condiments for a burrito, and even worse to do so without being up front about pricing. It was almost $80 total on two a la carte burritos and a couple soft drinks. The only reason we didnt make an issue of it in the restaraunt was because the waitress had been very kind, and it was late.
Restaurantji Recommends
I had the Chilli Relleno and my wife the Crane Asade, both good.
We wanted to try a local place that was highly rated and nearby; this restaurant checked out on both points and did NOT disappoint. The service was excellent, our waitress was so sweet and attentive. The food was DELICIOUS 😋 (hence, no pics lol)
The prices were fair for the amount served (I ordered a carnitas burrito 🌯 (dry) with rice and beans
I appreciated the extension of the lunch special prices after 3pm (we went in at 4pm) for just $2 extra
Overall, I was thoroughly satisfied 😌 and would not only go back but would highly recommend it to others who happen to be in the area looking for some good, authentic Mexican food. 😊
Wanted to try a new spot for a burrito on my lunch break. Called in a jumbo carne asada after looking at menu pictures in reviews and checking the menu online.
I was sticker shocked when the total for the burrito came out to over 20 dollars. That's the most I've ever paid for a burrito.
Additionally it wasn't a very good burrito. It was just fine but did not really seem to be that "jumbo" and was if I'm being generous of average quality.
Also they were busy when I arrived but that didn't excuse the very hurried attitude the cashier had with me.

ALWAYS wonderful food made fresh daily with authentic quality ingredients. Lorena makes sure everyone is delighted with everything and makes a great margarita ??
Absolutely the best meal you can get in Santa Clarita. My fiance and me just stumbled upon this place a few months ago and we can't stop going. They know us by first name now and I can say this place is truly a gem! Silvia is the sweetest person you'll meet. Make sure your ready for a great hearty meal that'll make you leaving happy and in need of a nap! At this point I've brought all my family members and we all agree it's a great place! Don't be out off by the lot, it can be busy but once you are inside, get ready for some great service and food.
