I'm not sure what happened to Carlsbad pizza by the slice that was here. It was a solid slice when visiting the Island. Allen's has taken over now and in my opinion needs some work. I know they just opened and have only a few reviews so I will be back to corroborate my initial impression. I hope to find it much improved.

I can say this is the best pizza in North County! Definitely not a basic pizza, the bread alone was flaky and delicious. We got half white and half red, everyone was happy and satisfied. We will be back!

What happened, Allen's? I remember getting pizza here when I was younger and it was good. Over the years it has changed. Now it tastes like cardboard with fake cheese, which is very unfortunate. Flippin' Pizza and the various other NY pizza places nearby are actually good.
