Himalayan Sherpa Cuisine

My family and I come to visit from Canada and we were heading back from San Diego to LA. On the way we thought we would stop by and have lunch. We came across this cute and casual restaurant and my god do I have to say that the food was so damn good!! The most authentic Nepali restaurant I have ever tired outside of Nepal. Way better than we were expecting to the point we weren’t able to leave without also getting a take out order!
The staff and service were amazing as well!

Tried Himalayan Sherpa Cuisine in Carlsbad recently and overall had a great experience! The **lassi** was excellent—refreshing, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. The **choila** really stood out with its bold, smoky flavors and tender meat—definitely a highlight of the meal, however a spice level 7, it was intensely hot! If you're not used to that level of heat, I highly recommend asking for a 3 or 4 instead. The **chicken tikka**, on the other hand, was decent but lacked that extra punch or char you’d expect.

We also tried the momo (dumplings)-they were juicy and well-cooked, but the flavor felt like it was missing a layer, maybe a more robust dipping sauce or spiced filling could have elevated it.

Service was friendly and the atmosphere cozy. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving authentic Nepali flavors, just be mindful of the spice scale!

Food is wonderful, service is so-so, friendly staff though, also needs soda fountain, like regular restaurants, and please add some variety to your restaurant music...The music had a droning tone that would never end. I know it's supposed to be a soothing but not for the whole entire 30 minutes of listening to the same music tone.

The Himalayan Biriyaninat a spice level 7 was so good!

New favorite restaurant in the village. Consistently delicious food, freindly people, and a wide selection dishes, including many great vegetarian options.
If you like spice, a level 10 will keep your nose running, and if you don't, all the dishes are just as good with no heat.
Good healthy portions for a really fair price. Two entrees and a side will feed a couple and leave you with leftovers.
All in all, a really great addition to the dining here in Carlsbad. Himalayan Sherpa Cuisine is sure to have my patronage, and hopefully yours as well.

Small place, it was busy, food took 20 minutes to come, and only 1 guy was taking care of everything. At least 3 employees in front should be there to cover. Anyways, the guy was doing his best, but the food was at par. Palak paneer was good. Mushroom masala was like boiled mushrooms in tomato cream gravy. Chutney with veg momos was not even close to Nepali momos Chutney. I would say if they can hire more staff in front and kitchen, then it would be better.

Very relaxed atmosphere and great service. The food was very tasteful with a Himalayan, tandoori flavor. The Daal soup was very good as well.

Love this place. Food is very delicious. The Himalayan sauces are little different than Indian sauces but they they very very delicious. I would recommend this place. A treat for your taste buds
