Great service! I had the scallops with polenta and it was so good! The scallops were sweet, the polenta was creamy, and the sourdough bread that was served before the meal was hot, fresh and crunchy. I plan on coming back the next time I'm in Carlsbad.

Gina the manager made me feel welcomed. Excellent service. Great food. Good prices. Highly recommend a glass of the French white wine, sour dough bread and a shrimp cocktail for an easy dinner after long day of travel.

If you enjoy seafood, this is a fabulous place to dine. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The server was knowledgeable about the dishes, helping to find the right dish. The blackened swordfish, served with dirty rice, was perfectly prepared, flakey, and delicious. We'll be back!

Stopped here while staying in Carlsbad. They were able to seat us in the bar area without reservations, but it seemed like reservations would be preferred on the weekends. Lots of fresh fish options. We enjoyed the crab dip & mahi. My husband's spicy marg was a highlight too!

Was so good we went 2 days in a row. First night had cedar plank salmon and 2nd night the miso glazed black cod. Both really good. Mud pie for dessert is the move also the crab dip as an app was really good.
Excellent fried calamari! I also loved my shrimp taco and Manhattan clam chowder, soup was very tasty and hot. The taco had a nice kick to it with the green sauce. They also provide yummy sourdough bread.

This is a great place for Seafood! Try the Rainbow Trout Almandine... delicious ?. The only downside is that the Parking Lot is small and on Saturday Night it will be difficult to get a good spot. Also, it is highly recommended that if you plan to have a table on Saturday night make a reservation!! Bluewater Grill is located in the very stylish Carlsbad Village. An interesting side note is that the Coaster Railway Line is about 10 yards away so be prepared to hear the Train Whistle every time it passes through Carlsbad!!Dietary restrictions: Ask for the Sword Fish.... This is one of the very few Restaurants that have their own Boat to catch Sword Fish!! The menu shows the Sword Fish as Blackened with Chipotle Sauce....try it Sauteed in Butter with the White Rice!!

Food was very average. I ordered cedar plank salmon, that came out rare and had to wait 15 minutes for my server to check on us to have it cocked further. Husband got wagyu burger, very average and dry, nothing special.Service was bad, probably because my husband & I are a young couple therefore, servers usually stereotype us as non-tippers.Atmosphere is HUGE to me and this place lost the mark.Overall, not impressed. Expensive meal for very average experience.
