Ordered a cake for an office retirement party and it was a hit! Several people asked where it was from. Chocolate cake with raspberry jam and chocolate buttercream, absolutely delightful! Wil definitely be ordering my cakes from here going forward. Ornament was purchased and added separately.

in previous years, this bakery was my favorite. this year, they’re closed on the 29th (my birthday) so i was willing to celebrate early and pick up the cake on the 24th JUST because i love their cakes so much, and even ordered it 2 weeks early.

but instead, their hours changed with no notice until 20 minutes before closing. even the form when i ordered said nothing about this, and neither did the confirmation email or receipt. i didn’t have the time to get there after receiving the phone call 20 MINUTES BEFORE, but i drove there as fast as i could and arrived minutes later, but the bakery was already empty and the lights off. the bakery is now closed for 2 weeks.

if i was the owner of a cake shop and made a cake that said happy 23rd birthday, i could never scramble out the door and leave for two weeks.

you probably threw it away at noon, didn’t you? instead of allowing me the extra 10 minutes to pick it up. this is extremely mean, and a day before christmas too. you got my number and email when i ordered the cake, i was calling and calling and left several messages but no one ever answered the phone, you could have let me know the day before, or at the very least, given me more time than 20 minutes notice to be there. so thanks so much. you’ve lost a customer for life.

It's now the first place we stop when on our way to San Diego. Fully authentic. Note: No restroom anywhere in the plaza.

Best bakery in Carlsbad and probably Southern California. My fave...almond croissants, cheese danish, and cheesecake. Haven't tried the other desserts, but will eventually try them all. The service is friendly.
The location is off the main strip, so search it out. You will find it a pleasurable experience!

We were in Carlsbad for a week and came here 3 times. Everything we had -- croissants, coffee cake, muffins -- was fresh and delicious. Mocha was top flight. Almost too them up on the $175 "one of everything" special...

Awesome friendly service, I ordered a special Birthday cake from London for my friend , I was looking for carrot cake specifically with coconut icing.. the cake was made in 4 tier, while asked for the smallest cake, it was very kind gesture , very tasty cake . Five Star Bakery.

This place is amazing!! We had a chocolate cake with raspberry filling and vanilla frosting for our wedding cake and it was to die for!! It was so beautiful!

Carlsbad resident since the 80s. Have had pasties and cakes here Many times. This birthday cake was not Even up to Costco or Vons output. Pre-ordered and Name was spelled wrong....My husband had to wait for it to be redone. Frosting is either Crisco or canola oil based, No flavor. Filling was equally tasteless, both obscured the chocolate cake. Birthday girl put her piece back. Granddaughter gave it a D and husband a C- other granddaughter scraped the frosting off. Underwhelming.

I ordered a cake for my husband’s birthday from here and we were both highly impressed! If you’re looking for a delicious, flavorful, moist cake for any event, consider purchasing from here! The person I spoke with at the shop was very friendly and immensely helpful offering suggestions for what we wanted. We will definitely be coming back for all of our future birthdays and events!

I just strolled by one day and bought a Nutella cupcake. I was pretty surprised by the quality of it. It kind of tasted like a cupcake that had been sitting on the shelves of a supermarket a little too long. It was pretty dry and stale tasting. I had to throw it away unfortunately. The frosting was also a little disappointing and tasted like something you would get out of a can at the supermarket (except drier), which I’ve never liked the taste of those canned frostings. You can usually find much better tasting baked goods and frostings at little bakeries around town but this cupcake was worse than a supermarket’s. Hopefully it was just a bad day for them and that one cupcake doesn’t represent their whole catalog. It’s an adorable little shop with a lot of potential.

Excellent pastries and variety is second to none. Had cookies, muffins and quiche. Each one memorable. You can even get one of everything for $175, but individually a good value too.
