Usually when I go to this place I only get boba, which i really like. The perls are nice and chewy and don't disintegrate like some bad perls do, if that makes sense, And I love the clear cans the boba comes in. This time me and my mom ended up getting food here for lunch, I got the kimchi pancakes and I really liked them, I ended up eating all of them. I forgot which drink I got in the picture, but I remember it being good 😅 but yeah I really like this place, I always like the music they are playing in there too. :)
This is my boba best pace. Delicious boba.
They never smile though
This place sucks, the waitress was very mean and helpful, she was looking at me angry I did not feel welcomed she rushed me to order and when I said if she has any good recommendations she said she doesn’t have any, chicken was okay and boba was decent, I will not be back.
Stopped here to pick up a late dinner. Boy was I surprised. I ordered the Kimchi Pancake(pajeon) and 6 piece chicken leg. Don't judge, lol, I had veggies at home. The pajeon was crispy, slightly spicy, and so delicious. The accompanying sauce was a perfect match. YUM! Then came the fried chicken. WOW This was some of the best fried chicken I have ever had in a restaurant. Better than Disneyland, better than the Crack Shack. To qualify my opinion, I am from North Carolina, where fried chicken is always at its Sunday best. Add to this a reasonable price and Encinitas, you have a winner.
Pretty disappointed with this place. We tried to order on Friday night (1/17) after seeing online that it closed at 9p. We placed a DoorDash order around 8:15p, got the confirmation, and headed over (we live about 10 minutes away).
We arrived at 8:25p but received a cancellation notification as we parked, citing a “store-related issue.” Thinking it was an error, we went inside, where a family was still eating. The cashier told us they canceled the order because they close at 8:30p. They weren’t friendly, and it was clear they wanted to close early due to slow business.
Nowhere was it stated they closed at 8:30p. We placed our order with enough time even if that were the case. To make matters worse, the staff was rude about the cancellation.
While we sat in the parking lot looking for other options, the store turned off the lights as soon as the last family left (around 8:30p). We then saw another customer enter the dark store to pick up an online order.
The store needs to update its hours and improve customer service. Based on this experience, we won’t return or recommend this place. There are plenty of other Korean fried chicken spots, and we found one nearby with excellent service instead.
Went here for boba, the flavors were bland for both of the drinks we ordered. It took us a long time to get our food and the chef kept dinging the bell while the waitress ignored it and was talking to what seemed like coworkers or friends. Once the food came out, one of the sides was wrong. We ordered popcorn shrimp and it had like seven tiny pieces of shrimp and an overload of depressingly tasting fries. Overall, the service was very poor and the food was not worth the price. Would definitely not recommend for a boba joint or food place in general.
Really delicious chicken that my kids love and a great selection of beer on top that I love. Super nice people

Aly was great 👍
My family and I have been customers of this restaurant for four years, but my visit tonight has left me questioning if I will ever eat a meal from Chicken Basket again. One of the main reasons I like this restaurant is because I follow a gluten free diet, and Chicken Basket uses rice flour in place of wheat flour when preparing their chicken. I was thrilled to know I could finally eat a piece of fried chicken again! However, based on the pain in my stomach, I suspect the chicken was prepared with wheat flour this time instead. I’m wondering how long my stomach will be reminding me of that mistake. When I received my order, it looked more like leftovers than a freshly prepared meal. The chicken was cold and soggy, while the fries looked as if they had been refried several times. We ordered three drinks, and the boba pearls were very mushy and unappealing. Overall, this visit was a huge disappointment. The quality of the food has continued to decrease while the prices have continued to increase. When I pay $73 for dinner for a family of 3, I expect better quality. I hope they can turn things around, but for now, I’ll be looking elsewhere for a satisfying meal.

Short Spanish woman at the counter was rude. Younger blonde was gossiping about her boyfriend instead of helping customers. Both failed in customer service. Zero stars.

My daughter and I got violently ill after eating here last year. I called the restaurant to ask if anyone else called or mentioned getting sick. The person said, there was no manager on duty and was not aware of any complaints. Without mentioning this restaurant's name, I posted a question on Next Door, asking the community whether anyone had gotten sick after eating at any local chicken places in the past 24 hours. Several people responded saying they had gotten very sick here at Chicken Basket. I never received a call back from the management and decided to just never eat there again. Unfortunately, my teenage son ate there today with his friend and has become violently ill! He has vomited over 13 times and can barely sit up. ATTN BUSINESS OWNERS, YOU NEED TO ADDRESS YOUR FOOD SAFETY! This is clearly an ongoing issue.

I love the boneless chicken and the Soy Garlic flavor they have. I have had their lunch special and regular plate with the boneless chicken a few times now. I recently tried their fried rice with Kimchi which was great as well. So far I have not had any bad experiences with greasy food, but I have not tried other types of chicken. As for the service, it's been okay. I think that some of the reviews I can relate to in regards to the service.

This place should close down. My fish and chips were dry and in small portions. The service was a joke. I still tipped even if people don’t deserve it. Too expensive for the amount of food. Learn some customer service if you want to stay in business.
