Slow service for a simple order. Pancakes were actually tough to cut. Bacon side was barely room temperature and wilted. Avocado toast got the 3 stars for food. Great location though.
Box checked for no return.

Service was fantastic and friendly and the food and coffee were great. I had the avocado toast. It was bright and fresh and the rosemary sourdough!!

A little loud outside but otherwise a good beachside breakfast

I definitely give this place 5 stars. The food was excellent. The people who work there are super nice. And they have real half & half for coffee! I love the location, the stone building is really pretty and it's surrounded by beautiful landscaping and flowers. Definitely keep this on your Carlsbad breakfast cafe list!

People here were so kind and the food was absolutely exquisite! Gorgeous place to be in the morning or for lunch! People are always on top of things and constantly checking up on you. Everyone had what seemed to be a genuine smile and I absolutely felt welcomed! I highly recommend!!!

Wonderful breakfast place. Delicious breakfast burritos. Fruit that looked as good as it tastes. Relaxed outdoor vibe. And incredible service!

Our server and the owner were both wonderful. I asked for honey mustard and the owner went back and made some from scratch immediately. Wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. The quality of food was excellent.

Enjoy our experience as we usually do, their tables could use some serious maintenance. One of us had to hold the table steady as we ate because it was so wobbly.

This is a quaint little spot right smack in the middle of the village. I frequent here for breakfast often. I traditionally get their corned beef hash and eggs with salad instead of potatoes and fruit instead of toast. I was SO bummed to find out they no longer serve the hash! So..... I ended up getting myself a dragonflies bowl. It was packed with flavor, not bitter, hearty helping of fruit, and a perfect touch of honey and bee pollen.

The service here is great. I have a couple of my favorites who are so kind, engaging, always smiling, and give great attention to taking care of me. There are a couple of others who are a little more transactional, and although they aren't rude, they are short, to the point, not engaging, and not smiling. I always cross my fingers and hope I don't the the 2 latter....

I would recommend visiting, as it is a great breakfast spot. They have great coffee and great espresso drinks (much better than the 2 corporate coffee chains across the street).

I have lived in the area for over 30 years and just now tried The Daily News Cafe. We had crepes and cinnamon roll. I liked the breakfast potatoes and hash browns. The best part of the whole meal was the service. My coffee cup was never empty and the waitress was delightful. This is a solid place for breakfast especially if you want to sit outside and enjoy the morning air.
