Old hash browns, the breakfast sausage was not good at all and the biscuit had a weird herb in it. It all tasted yucky. Eggs were done correctly, over easy. Best thing on the plate.

The Daily News Cafe offers a delightful outdoor dining experience. The fence helps to reduce traffic noise, which only adds to the moment. Many people were enjoying the outdoor seating, to appreciate the wonderful crisp weather of Carlsbad. I valued my dining moment to collect my thoughts. The charming staff ensured my coffee cup ☕ was full, which I appreciated. Coffee seems to help process my thoughts.

I ordered orange juice and the Two Eggs Breakfast. I had my eggs scrambled, I chose the fruit versus hash browns or breakfast potatoes, and the biscuit versus toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly, no brown overcooked spots. Before I chose the fresh fruit I asked my server, Deena, how it was and she said it is very good and she was right. As you will see from the pictures and video, there was a great assortment and it was delicious. I also asked Deena about the biscuit versus toast and she said definitely biscuit. Servers are so helpful in guiding me. The biscuits are made fresh and they contain cheddar cheese and rosemary. Awesome! I was telling Deena how delicious the biscuit was and the chef, Brad, came out, and he was very modest about the biscuits. It was delicious. Brad then shared about the organic jelly he makes and I used all of it. This was one of my All Time best breakfast meals!

The breakfast was pretty good. The cost was a little much for what you got. They weren’t prepared to open that morning so it took a while to get everything ready. Only one server was running around. She had way too much to do.

Slow service for a simple order. Pancakes were actually tough to cut. Bacon side was barely room temperature and wilted. Avocado toast got the 3 stars for food. Great location though. Box checked for no return.

I definitely give this place 5 stars. The food was excellent. The people who work there are super nice. And they have real half & half for coffee! I love the location, the stone building is really pretty and it's surrounded by beautiful landscaping and flowers. Definitely keep this on your Carlsbad breakfast cafe list!

People here were so kind and the food was absolutely exquisite! Gorgeous place to be in the morning or for lunch! People are always on top of things and constantly checking up on you. Everyone had what seemed to be a genuine smile and I absolutely felt welcomed! I highly recommend!!!

Enjoy our experience as we usually do, their tables could use some serious maintenance. One of us had to hold the table steady as we ate because it was so wobbly.
