Food was so delicious, our server Tara was super attentive, she went above and beyond. She mentioned today Monday marks her 20th year anniversary there, now I see why lol. The ambience is quiet, mellow & super close to the beach!! They have a delicious vanilla latte!! Will definitely be back soon!

$38 for breakfast!!!!!!!! Unbelievable ! This place is ripping you off! The OJ was not freshly squeezed my baloney joney!!!!! An omelette, hashbrowns, some bland, disgusting tomato slices, an english muffin- three strips of bacon !! Almost $40!!! I am flabbergasted at the way they tried to charge you, it is insanity! Since when does breakfast cost $40 for one person!!! do not go here they will rip you off and try to charge you and I've seen amount of money for a subpar breakfast- Just go to taco shop and get burrito ! Again, this place should be closed down !!! Carlsbad is getting insanely expensive not worth going out to eat whatsoever !!!! Eat a Dick!!!

I cut into my huevos rancheros and my egg oozed clear whites all over my plate. When I pointed it out to our server, I was told "that's how we cook them here, over-medium". She then took it to their kitchen manager and stated, " our kitchen manager states this is how we cook them". I asked if undercooked was considered cooked with the whites runny and she stated yes. Then we were handed our check. I have worked in the service industry for years and have never been argued with, nor gas-lighted this way by a server. Additionally I am a cook and know what an over-medium egg looks like. So thanks for arguing with me and we will never go back. Huevos rancheros were mediocre at best, Crepes were not that great and eggs benedict were just ok. Would not recommend eating here.

Fun place to have breakfast or lunch! Our omelettes were fantastic today. I had the special “club omelette” and my friend had the “California omelette”. They are usually busy, but it’s worth the wait. I suggest eating outside on the patio. The weather is almost always perfect for al fresco dining in Carlsbad!Parking: There is a parking lot but if they are busy, you could have trouble finding a spot.Wheelchair accessibility: All on one level except for the bathroom. It’s in the second floor, but there is an elevator.

I remember this cafe is always crowded whenever I walked by. Finally came to this cafe to try foods. We ordered crabmeat crepes, coffee, and margaritas. Crepes- Thin and flavorful crabmeats 3.5/5 Coffee- house coffee was good 3/5 Margaritas- 3/5 Services- 3/5 Cleanness- 3.5/5 Would I visit again? Yes! I would come back for breakfast. Fyi the bathroom is located in random area (inside the different building by the offices)

We just love this place. Perfect for outdoor dining. Perfectly sheltered with glass walls and umbrellas, great food and service too. We have been going there for many years, never disappointed. Parking is a bit tricky at peak hours.

The breakfast was terrible and i am not sure what all the hype is about there are so many other places that serve breakfast way better than this place. LOOK ELSEWHERE some of the staff is not customer service oriented and like to gossip about customers and the only best service was the bus boy cleaning everything.

The food here is just ok. We came for breakfast and sat outside. I had a blueberry muffin that was oddly heavy (weight), but tasted ok. The breakfast parfait was again just ok, banana, watermelon, apple, cantaloupe, no honey or other ingredients except the plain yogurt and granola. My wife had a crepe Scrambled Eggs, Cheese & Avocado, she said it was pretty good but was plain tasting.Maybe the lunch is better here, they seem to have a decent looking menu.

We had breakfast at Daily News Cafe on Wednesday February 14. Our experience was not a good one. The waitress was rude and my husband's food was cold. Just want to let you know.and we will not return or recommend it.

The food is just okay, not bad, but nothing special. The muffins and all up front in the display case look good but did not try them. Had the fish tacos which were good, but the beans and rice were very boring. Also had a chicken sandwich, not too exciting

The Daily News Cafe is a must when you're in the area. They always have great specials and also have good choices for kids. We love their biscuits and gravy and also their cinnamon rolls are to die for! The service is fast and friendly. We love the outside seating, but it's also nice to have the option of sitting indoors if it's too chilly. They have umbrellas and heaters outside to help with the climate. It's a great place to eat with friends and family and the food never disappoints.
