I have Gonzo to Gonzo and I gotta say - the decor? the style? the vibes? immaculate. HOWEVER on the visit I had (my first ever visit) I found the food… somewhat lacking.
With that being said, my tried and true statement for reviews time and time again is “we all have off days” and given that we had ordered before (a delightful) happy hour, I understand the dip in quality.
With that being said, I fully intend on visiting again based on the radiating positivity from the staff and glorious aesthetic Gonzo has established.

I went to Gonzo Ramen and tried the Gonzo Red, while my friends had the Donkotsu and Miso ramen. We also ordered the musubi and a tuna mayo onigiri on the side. Everything was delicious, and the broth was incredibly rich and flavorful. Definitely one of the best ramen spots I’ve tried recently — I’ll be coming back for sure!

I don't hate it, I swear. And if it wasn't because of my personal experience, I would say all the ramen I had tried there. This is based on my family and my boyfriend's family members' experience with the food. So far everyone went there love the food and had to fight for bathroom as soon as we got back home. This happened 3 times, and we went with different people in the family each time. If only within my family, I could call it maybe it's in the trait that we might be allergic to something in the food, but it also happened to my bf's family members as well. Again, this is personal. And the food tasted great, but might not go again.

Out of the 3-4 Ramen places that I tried, Gonzo is the best, their broth is creamy but not too salty. The chashu is tender and not too fatty. The restaurant is at a shopping center, easy to find parking and is one block from the beach. Highly recommended.

The ramen was delicious, with a unique flavor that was different from what I’ve had before—and not too salty, which I really appreciate. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating, the location has a nice vibe, and parking is readily available.

I have been in there a couple years ago with my mom. I went in last week and ordered katsu curry. I was disappointed on how thin the slice of pork was. I dont think the people who used to cook there 2 years ago are working there anymore. Luckily I have found a small hole in the wall in Oceanside that has excellent pork and chicken curry katsu and they don't skimp when slicing their filets.
