Meh. Solid 3.5 star place. Moved to Carlsbad from Carmel Valley and trying to find a new "regular" place. Been here 4-5 times and consistent experience. Ambiance- a little divey and definitely doesn't feel clean (nor do many dive bars). But definitely a decent vibe and atmosphere. Good for sports, but their TV's are nothing to write home about. Older and smaller. Food- this is the highlight. Most reasonable prices in Carlsbad. It cannot be easy running a restaurant w crazy CA minimum wages. I have tried a handful of things, my favorite being the Fiesta Chicken Sandwich. Super fresh flavor and big piece of chicken. Service- this is where Grand Ave slacks a bit. The servers and bartenders are super nice, but they spend a lot of time talking to each other and the locals. This occurs if you sit in "restaurant" part or at the bar. There is good banter w the locals. Seems everyone knows everyone, which is super cool. Just feel a bit ignored. It's an ok dive bar and I'll definitely be back. Maybe if I am a "local", things will get better. But all customers deserve an excellent experience.

Insanely loud at 9:15 am on a Sunday for breakfast. The food was less than average including stale sour dough toast. The eggs came to the table almost cold and the service was very slow. I may have hit this place on an off day, but I don't think I'd go back for breakfast.

Had a nice lunch here. First time visit. We sat in the back area since we were a large group. Our waitress was attentive. The food was good. I think I will visit this place the next time I am in town with my brothers who would probably like it. It was the perfect place for a large party but I would like to see what it is like with just a few people having a drink and a bite to eat. They say the atmosphere in the regular area is very comfy. So next visit, I will be back. 8/7/23

I had the pleasure of having Kris as my server. She was very attentive, quick, and made sure our drinks were always full. It's such a great ambiance, especially for football Sundays! GO CHIEFS!!! The food is INCREDIBLE. Can't go wrong with the Cajun chicken pasta. The veggie plate is very good. My dog liked the plain burger patty, no tomato. Kris is amazing and I will request her every time I go. She's also very pretty

This place is absolutely incredible! The food here is off the charts delicious! Every time I come here with my friend we receive absolutely wonderful service. The prices here are truly unbelievable, compared to anywhere else in the region. You will receive double if not, triple the portions you would receive at a regular restaurant and you are only paying a third of what you would normally pay when you eat here. That's how good Grand's prices are! Inside the bar gives you a welcoming, friendly atmosphere, and the waitress always remembers our names when we come in. This is definitely the place to go if you want a family-type feel with incredible prices, great people, and wonderful food!

If you want to get away from the hustle and have a home town bar feel then Grand Avenue is your spot. My crew and I love meeting up on Sundays for football. I had the fish and chips which were amazing. My wife grabbed their BLT with fries. Good vibes all around.

Our waitress was superb! She was very attentive and helpful.We ordered two of their drink specials, an old fashioned and aMai Tai. Both were horrible. Stick with beer. My husband’s Old Fashioned was unrecognizable. Our waitress was amazing! Stick with beer.
