I really wanted to like this place because of the raving reviews I had heard from when they were in Escondido but the food and hibiscus drink was VERY underwhelming. Food was very bland, this is definitely food catered more to the Caucasian population of San Diego. Portions were also underwhelming, especially for the price paid for a burrito. Some places deserve a second chance but unfortunately Hacienda de Vega is not one of them for me. Also the chips were NOT good.
Amazing food, drinks, and events. A great place to bring your family and friends. All the staff is very my friend and welcoming
Love this place. Came on a Friday, band was playing and the vibe was just what we were looking for. Chips, salsa, margaritas, food, staff, ALL AWESOME.
Love the place , nice bartenders
It's a very nice place. We were a larger party, we had to ask to have someone take our food order, some of the orders came out incorrect and we were not charged correctly.
We went to Hacienda de Vega because my brother and wife liked their beer and tequila menus. They were also high on the carnitas dishes. They are pretty good judges of Mexican food in the Carlsbad, Encinitas, San Diego area and this restaurant choice really solidified their rep for me. Hacienda is located in a kind of business/commercial mall and looks pretty ordinary on the exterior. The first impression you get on the inside is that they are trying a tad to hard to make the place look like a Mexican cantina. Best to just get over that because the food they serve is some of the best that I can remember.
Keep coming back whenever we're in Carlsbad. Tonight they had live music and it was wonderful. Very busy, bit hoppin'.
Ambience, great staff and great entertainment!
The management and our two waiters went above and beyond to help me have my son's last minute wedding reception there. I can't express how lovely the event was. The guest were happt with the food, service, and location. The bride and groom took beautiful pictures and couldn't be more pleased with the outcome.
Food is pretty eh. Overpriced. Way better Mexican food for way less money in the area. Service is good. Drinks were good.

Nice venue , delicious food and the music very good
Nice attentive staff. Comfortable atmosphere. I go there mainly to listen to the local bands play. I will say however that I think their food is somewhat overpriced. Not uncommon given the area. I highly recommend their corn chowder. It's delicious
We came here at lunchtime on a weekday and we're immediately seated. It started off so good with the most amazing chips we've ever had and great salsa. However pricing was very high ($24 for burrito, soda, and tip) and th burrito was just bland and soggy. We'd come back for the chips but not the food....
Service excellent, attention and answer me, price good prices for the portion they serve.flavor delicious, Tampiqueña meet, enchilada, rice & beans chips salsa, friendly atmosphere
Went for the music and was impressed by the happy hour prices and the delicious and substantial serving of cerviche and the amazing salsas. I will be back again to experience more of the menu. Still in mourning over the closure of my long time favorite Alfonso’s of LaJolla, perhaps the Hacienda de Vega will earn the right to be my new favorite!
