I really wanted to like this place because of the raving reviews I had heard from when they were in Escondido but the food and hibiscus drink was VERY underwhelming. Food was very bland, this is definitely food catered more to the Caucasian population of San Diego. Portions were also underwhelming, especially for the price paid for a burrito. Some places deserve a second chance but unfortunately Hacienda de Vega is not one of them for me. Also the chips were NOT good.

Post quarantine review! So, have you noticed how quality has gone WAY down and prices have gone up?? Not here. Same quality, same prices, same service. We won't go to many of our old places for a long time, but hacienda definitely earned our post quarantine business. Thank guys!

I was so happy to see Hacienda de Vega was re-opened. They have been doing a great job with takeout. As opposed to other restaurants you don't feel like you are getting smaller portions when you order takeout. That being said there is nothing like sitting on their patio getting a delicious margarita, fresh chips and salsa and piping hot enchiladas. It really is a gem in the middle of a bunch of businesses.

The place has wonderful ambiance including dance on the patio. . The food, service and drinks are not good. I don't want to return and I don't recommend.

Love this place. Came on a Friday, band was playing and the vibe was just what we were looking for. Chips, salsa, margaritas, food, staff, ALL AWESOME.

Went to Hacienda de Vega tonight, my husband and I went specially to hear the 80's band, Cheez Whiz. First of all, the advertising states 6-9; however the band didn't start till 7:00! Not good people, we were told to get their early at 5:30, which we did. Then had to wait for the amateurs to start playing. I heard a customer leave, saying "you were suppose to start at 6:00". People don't like waiting, Cheez Whiz is not a professional band, be more professional and have work ethics. Overall the band was awesome, we had a great time, food was delicious, service was good. Hacienda de Vega Management, I hope you deducted money off their late start because if you paid for 3 hours, you only received 1 1/2.

For most part don't dine or drink there on Saturday night if you want to enjoy the music and the dance as you normally would when they have a live band. It looks like they welcome people who mostly don't dine or drink, and only come for dance lessons with $10 per person on Saturday night. If the diners want to dance to the music after the dance lessons, they still have to pay $10. Manager, staff, services are great. Food is good.

It's a very nice place. We were a larger party, we had to ask to have someone take our food order, some of the orders came out incorrect and we were not charged correctly.

We went to Hacienda de Vega because my brother and wife liked their beer and tequila menus. They were also high on the carnitas dishes. They are pretty good judges of Mexican food in the Carlsbad, Encinitas, San Diego area and this restaurant choice really solidified their rep for me. Hacienda is located in a kind of business/commercial mall and looks pretty ordinary on the exterior. The first impression you get on the inside is that they are trying a tad to hard to make the place look like a Mexican cantina. Best to just get over that because the food they serve is some of the best that I can remember.

Keep coming back whenever we're in Carlsbad. Tonight they had live music and it was wonderful. Very busy, bit hoppin'.

The food is not good, but, the ambiance is pleasant. Chicken enchiladas were not edible from a friend that rarely complains about food. How do you mess up chicken enchiladas? The al pastor, anything, but authentic and lacked flavor, also dry. The margarita drinks are served in huge glasses and tasted like a bunch of sweet and sour even after being assured they weren't going to use it our drinks. Left with almost all the food left on the table. The salsa was decent. Service was slow and it was fairly empty at peak lunch time (12:30pm). Will not give this place a second chance. Bummer, because the look and location of the restaurant has good potential. I'm surprised it has other locations.

The management and our two waiters went above and beyond to help me have my son's last minute wedding reception there. I can't express how lovely the event was. The guest were happt with the food, service, and location. The bride and groom took beautiful pictures and couldn't be more pleased with the outcome.
