If only I could give -5 stars. The dumplings I bought were heated from frozen/refrigerated and were still cold when I had them. I had asked for 12 veggie dumplings and 6 of them turned out to be chicken. Additionally, the 6 veggie dumplings I did have tasted like absolute trash and the dumpling wrapper was dry and falling apart. Horrendous.

One of the worst culinary experiences in the history of eating. I must stress it is only this location in the Carlsbad Outlets - we love the others. The woman who helped us could not have cared less. She was uninterested and watching a show. We asked for dumplings and she said they were sold out (if that’s the case, mark it on your menu) so we went for BBQ pork buns. She pulled them out of a cooler and microwaved them for like 12 seconds. Then she just handed them to my husband in zip lock bags- no carton, no napkins, no dipping sauces- just two hot zip lock bags. The buns stuck to the zip lock bags and were only partially warm. We wound up throwing them away. What a waste of money. Do better. Jesus Christ.

My mom and I were looking for something for snack and we tried this store. It exceeded our expectations.

The bao buns were pretty good! Shumai was pretty over cooked but considering they don't make anything at the kiosk fresh that's kind of what you are going to get. As far as taste I wouldn't say anything spectacular but taste like usual frozen dumplings and baos.

I do not recommend..

We had the pork dumplings and one of each of their specialties today in Carlsbad. They were plain, no accompanying sauces, and bland. I would not recommend their food. The one speciality dish, I think it was the shumai, had chewy, undercooked pork in it and the other speciality, I think the xeolang bao was soggy and hardly had any filing. I was disappointed for sure.

I love this Bao stand, I drive from Orange county to Carlsbad just to get a few pieces of Bao. Good comfort food. It tastes like the ones I ate when I was a kid.

If I could give 0 stars I would! He double charged us!First, the food comes in ziplock bags like the others stated in other reviews. If you do not mind the bland-room temp plastic flavored food then you might mind being charged double for what you asked. When I went to pay with my card he said it was no good. I thought that was strange but I slid another one in… I checked my account and I was charged on each one! I took screen shots for proof.Unethical and fraudulent! Horrible business! Beware.

Saw these guys at Foodtopia in Del Mar Fairgrounds and the XLB and the bbq pork buns were sensational!Literally the best, softest, most flavorful BBQ bun I’ve ever had, bar none. The XLB were also excellent and I can’t wait to have more and see what else they have to offer.

We got some pork dumplings at their downtown San Diego site and loved them! The milk tea was delicious as well.

Casually grabbed a bbq pork bun and pork dumplings at the vista farmers market and both were amazing! Higher quality meat than I expected and great flavor. Wish I had gotten more!

We get their dumplings every week at the Oceanside sunset market. Their line is always the longest at the market because they are the best food in town!
