Stopped at their booth in Balboa Park during the Lunar New Year festival. Their prices were very reasonable with a 3-for-$10 on steamed buns. We got chicken and mushroom and cabbage and mushroom. So good! The fillings were plentiful and flavorful and the buns were tasty and perfectly steamed! Will def buy from them again next time we see them!

If only I could give -5 stars. The dumplings I bought were heated from frozen/refrigerated and were still cold when I had them. I had asked for 12 veggie dumplings and 6 of them turned out to be chicken. Additionally, the 6 veggie dumplings I did have tasted like absolute trash and the dumpling wrapper was dry and falling apart. Horrendous.

One of the worst culinary experiences in the history of eating. I must stress it is only this location in the Carlsbad Outlets - we love the others. The woman who helped us could not have cared less. She was uninterested and watching a show. We asked for dumplings and she said they were sold out (if that’s the case, mark it on your menu) so we went for BBQ pork buns. She pulled them out of a cooler and microwaved them for like 12 seconds. Then she just handed them to my husband in zip lock bags- no carton, no napkins, no dipping sauces- just two hot zip lock bags. The buns stuck to the zip lock bags and were only partially warm. We wound up throwing them away. What a waste of money. Do better. Jesus Christ.

Welcome friends. Enter the House of Bao. I must bow down to this bao. It was stuffed with delicacies unimaginable. My daughter had the bao stuffed with mushrooms and cabbage. Not only was it cooked to perfection, with the bun the perfect texture with every bite, but the contents within the bao were also perfectly seasoned and cooked. My son and I had the chicken and mushroom bao. It was bao-tiful. The portions were bao-ntiful and I could not get over the bao-ndless deals - 3 bao for $10!!! Amazing!

I have ordered from them a few times and the quality and flavors have always been excellent. The prices are excellent and they take credit cards using the Square App. The shrimp dumpling wrappers were thin and delicate. The shrimp filling tasted fresh and light. The pork dumplings were also very well done and very light. A winner ! Check them out next time you have a chance.

I was in Santee California in a mall parking lot which had a farmers market. One of the vendors was a Bao bun kiosk, called House of Bao. The whole family enjoyed having pork and chicken Baos so much that we contacted our school to have them take part in our fall festival which took place today October 14, 2014. From the looks of it, everyone seem to enjoy their bows. Celso had other items, but we just couldn't get enough of the pork Baos and being custard Baos. So if you're looking for a catered event, and you were looking for something different look no further than The House of Bao! I don't recall who the owner might be, but if it was the lady we met in Santee, California back in March, I believe then I have to say hats off to your business! Thank you for taking part in a Winter Gardens fall festival! 3/$10 Bao buns!! Score!

I think I might've just gone to a shitty location but the guy was on his phone when I came up but that's no big deal. He then pulled a cardboard box with plastic over the top and pops into the microwave. Those are the pork dumpling I ordered. He gave them to me, I tried them and they were atrocious.

My mom and I were looking for something for snack and we tried this store. It exceeded our expectations.

The bao buns were pretty good! Shumai was pretty over cooked but considering they don't make anything at the kiosk fresh that's kind of what you are going to get. As far as taste I wouldn't say anything spectacular but taste like usual frozen dumplings and baos.

Omg the vegetable dumplings here are incredible. Got a set of six and came back for more they were so good. My husband got the shumai and said it was really good as well.

Tried House of Bao @ the PB Farmer's Market on Tuesday's. Absolutely loved these dumplings and the price point was very affordable, compared to other vendors (6 for $6). I loved the juiciness and freshness of the dumplings. In addition, you could alter the spice level by adding some chili oil and sriracha. Excited to try this again!

We had the pork dumplings and one of each of their specialties today in Carlsbad. They were plain, no accompanying sauces, and bland. I would not recommend their food. The one speciality dish, I think it was the shumai, had chewy, undercooked pork in it and the other speciality, I think the xeolang bao was soggy and hardly had any filing. I was disappointed for sure.

I love this Bao stand, I drive from Orange county to Carlsbad just to get a few pieces of Bao. Good comfort food. It tastes like the ones I ate when I was a kid.

I really love the bao here, particularly the mushroom and cabbage bao. I've tried their other ones but this vegan one really hit the spot. It's incredibly flavourful. They also have a range of sweet buns and those are super tasty too, I love the red bean bun. You can find House of Bao at different events, farmers markets, pop-ups throughout San Diego county are usually find them at the Vista farmers market.I prefer to get the deal of three bao for $10 versus buying one for $4, but it ultimately depends on your hunger level. Great food and good prices. I've had their bao many times and always great service and food.
