Showed up at 3pm on a Saturday. The restaurant is opened. Rang the bell. Waited and no one responded. It's really too bad

This is a little find in Carlsbad! We wanted Thai food and we wanted it in this specific area, so we came here. The restaurant was empty on this Sat afternoon. We were a little apprehensive but decided to give it a shot anyway.

We got seated immediately. The server was nice. Each table has a bell with buttons indicating "call" and "pay", which was unique and I wish more restaurants would adopt this. The Thai menu is pretty much standard. Their Lao menu has like 8 items.

We ordered the drunken noodles from the Thai menu and Khao Poon or Vermicelli Curry Noodles from the Lao menu. Both plates were delicious but not super spicy. For next time, we will ask for a higher spice level. The drunken noodles was a proper stir fry with a lot of veggies and a mix of great flavors. The Curry Noodles was a bowl of coconut milk based soup with vermicelli, minced chicken and beef pieces and veggies. The bowl was a huge portion and would have sufficed 2 people. The drunken noodles was good for 1.5 people. Pricing wise, it is on par with Carlsbad. We will be back to try more options!

Food tasted fresh and delicious. I am not an authority on whether it was authentic Thai but the flavors met my expectations. Staffing was a little light so we did have to wait a little longer than we would’ve liked. It was a little frustrating that they had run out of many items when we ordered. Take out is probably a safer bet.

I've have eaten at this location 5 separate times. Always togo. The food is always delicious the people are always so kind. Definitely suggest giving it a try great for all diets. I have tried curry's, noodle dishes, appetizers, fried rices all tasty and consistent.

Vegetarian options: Almost all dish options can come with vegetables, tofu or mock chicken. Not every dish can be made vegan or vegetarian but a large sum can.

Wheelchair accessibility: It's a single layer restaurant with parking lot that has wheel chair ramps not too far from front door.

If you’re looking for NOT AUTHENTIC Thai / Lao cuisine, this place is for you.I ordered the beef laab expecting to get a lot of mint cause it’s usually served that way and when the dish came out there wasn’t any. I spoke to the server and she said she saw the chef add some. Clearly no where to be found in the salad but I believed her and I simply asked for extra mint. She comes back out and tells me they ran out. lol. So you didn’t have any mint. And didn’t give me any but swore the chef added some. Haha. The food always is spoiled over silly lies. The beef laab was just stir fried beef over a salad bag you could get at Vons and some chopped cabbage. It was $20. I could stir fry my own beef and get a bag of salad for $6.Crab fried rice was wet and had barely any crab. $18.Tom yum soup was $13 but add the 3 shrimps and it came to $17. lolReally wanted the mango sticky rice but I can’t justify it being $15.What bothers me the most is the service is not for the people. When you make a complain to these people the just shrug it off and pretend they don’t know what you want.

Great service. Food is good, but a little bland for Thai. And, there is a slight sewer smell in the restaurant that really puts me off.

Big portions, lots of meat, good flavor. I got the peanut curry with brisket and chicken and it fed me for 2 meals.
