Le Papagayo Carlsbad

We had a great experience - food was delicious, service was friendly and efficient, and drinks were nice and strong. We ordered the wagyu meatloaf, chicken piccata, margarita flatbread, bacon burger, and cookie skillet. We'd order all these dishes again. Note that the cookie skillet easily feeds 4 people! We will definitely come back!

Enjoyed our meal outside on the covered patio. Great drinks! Easy parking in city lot. Efficient service. Varied menu. Definitely recommend!

Everything was fantastic. The food was delicious. Birria eggrolls were delicious! Definitely coming back for the desserts lol

Enjoyed a nice, relaxed dinner with a friendly staff and good service. Food was good but not exceptional.

Went during friday for happy hour and was very delighted with food, service and the setting. Best part was the Lobster Bisque soup... outstanding. This was our 2nd visit and I think my favorite place these days in Carlsbad.

The food was excellent. The service was poor. We were ignored the entire evening after our food was delivered. There was no acknowledgement or apology for the slow/bad service. Also tables were never bussed around us.

The quality of the food, service, and attention to customers has gone down significantly. Not to mention, the bathrooms are poorly designed and not regularly maintained. While I was there, I could not locate a working soap dispenser, meaning every woman (including servers) that went to the restroom did not have soap to properly wash their hands.. DISGUSTING. The food is too expensive for the quality, and our food took over 40 min just to come out only for my husband and I to send one of our items back that we didn't even finish one bite of. If I ever go back to Le Papagayo, it will be to the Encinitas location only.

We dined on a Saturday evening and it was very busy. It took over an hour to get our appetizers. Granted the waitress warned us that the cooking staff was new and orders were taking extra long. Our dinner started at 6:15 and we got out of there at 9:15. Three hours really long. So if you're not in a hurry, then all will be well. The band was really good!

Super expensive charging 10 dollar for bread ‘super noisy . Paella for 2 had size of a small dish for one . Def would not go back value for quality / quantity not justifiable

Always a great experience here! We went on a Tuesday for the all day Happy Hour. We split the delicious Papagayo salad; I had two yummy tacos, shrimp and mahi mahi and my hub had the single smash burger. He added fries that were out of this world good! The crema on the tacos was really good as well. Plus there was live entertainment. It was very noisy inside but we blamed it in the touristas 🤣

Band was very good. ZB Savoy. Some old former touring musicians. Not very crowded. Server was Antonia: very pleasant

Really like Le Papagayo but was disappointed as our reservation was for 4pm. We got caught in the between lunch and dinner and did not have a good selection of meal options. We had to wait at the table until 5 pm to order off the dinner menu ... per our server. Frustrating, no exceptions! No where is this requirement posted, I guess you have to read between the lines ... my fault! By the time dinner was available you were stuffed on appetizers.
