Lofty Coffee La Costa

This used to be my favorite, sadly not anymore.

I was a regular here until recently because it started being inconstant. The pastries here were always fresh and the coffee perfect but now it’s a hit and miss. Yesterday (Saturday morning) I bought two croissants and coffees to takeaway, once I tried the croissants they were both so stale and smelled like they have been sitting together with other ingredients. I’m surprised they would not have fresh pastries on one of their busiest mornings and over the weekend! They used to be so consistent and the croissants are really great when fresh. I’ve excused it before, thinking it’s a one off, but now it’s happened a few times I think this might be the last time I give them a chance and I’m better off going to another Lofty near by.

Third: atmosphere, Lofty earns its name from the large, elevated patio that sets it back from the foot traffic on the street.
Fifth: are the staff that knows their products and are masters in preparation and presentation of all things Lofty.

Lofty is my favorite coffee shop in the area! The staff is all super friendly and I’m obsessed with their food menu! I also love that they brew their own coffee beans. You can taste the difference. Highly recommend trying Lofty if you haven’t already, you won’t be disappointed!

Super pretty and clean space. Staff were friendly as well. The coffee/tea were not very good though. I love matchas (traditional/unsweetened) and this was very unpleasant. I think it may have been the house almond milk but it tasted too grassy like hay which overpowered any of the matcha. I was bummed to pay $7 for a drink I couldn’t not finish. The cold brew drink my husband got was $9 which just seems like a lot for nothing spectacular.

It was amazing breakfast and coffee. Highly recommend this place

This is a delightful coffee shop, where I enjoyed a morning date with my wife. We only drank the house coffee, but the coffee hit the spot. To add to the atmosphere, Lofty Coffee played music (contemporary soft rock/ jazz). The service was kind and thoughtful, but the crew was busy. Several customers had their laptops, and they appeared to appreciate the environment. Lofty Coffee has an interesting pledge (please see photo).

Yes, I would take my wife back to Lofty Coffee for another coffee date.

The ambiance and coffee is always EXCELLENT! The service varies, but I can kind of understand because some of the customers are plain rude… I’ve had a few wrong drinks and the women who made them seemed frustrated that I asked them to be adjusted. But that was only a few times. The majority of the time, all is well and all is delicious. ?
