There are a bunch of Lofty Coffees. I have now been to 3 of them. All have different atmosphere but similar food.

This is a delightful coffee shop, where I enjoyed a morning date with my wife. We only drank the house coffee, but the coffee hit the spot. To add to the atmosphere, Lofty Coffee played music (contemporary soft rock/ jazz). The service was kind and thoughtful, but the crew was busy. Several customers had their laptops, and they appeared to appreciate the environment. Lofty Coffee has an interesting pledge (please see photo).

Yes, I would take my wife back to Lofty Coffee for another coffee date.

The ambiance and coffee is always EXCELLENT! The service varies, but I can kind of understand because some of the customers are plain rude… I’ve had a few wrong drinks and the women who made them seemed frustrated that I asked them to be adjusted. But that was only a few times. The majority of the time, all is well and all is delicious. ?

One of the worst breakfasts I ever had for $16.50. I attempted to prepare it myself, but it was a disaster and my hands were messy afterwards. The tater tots were good but without ketchup it was pointless. The bread crust was rock hard so I cut it off but then the bread was too floppy to hold the sandwich up so I had to cut it into bits to eat. I would happily pay $6 for this, even knowing I have to spend the time building it, so I feel ripped off $10.50. The coffee is good, but VERY expensive. I do recommend this place for a coffee if you're stuck near one and have a lot of cash to spare, but if you care about value for money, don't bother. I should have gone to Denny's where they prepare the food for you.

Coffee and food were fine. Açaí bowl is a highlight. I do think it’s weird to post your ethos on the wall and be all about community and everyone but then locking the restroom.

It's been a while since I've been to a Lofty, but this most recent experience was disappointing at this location. Coffee tastes like they don't maintain/clean their machines regularly. It appears from other comments that I'm not the only one who has experienced this. The scone I had was underbaked as it was doughy in the center, and I was already half home, so it was too late to address it. The tone from the staff comes across as if I and others being there is such an inconvenience for them and feels unwelcoming.

When in the north county San Diego area, Lofty Coffee - La Costa is one of my favorite places. The coffee, food, and service are amazing. The staff's service and friendly demeanor contribute to the inviting atmosphere, making customers feel genuinely welcome.Lofty roasts their own coffee and has a variety of crafted coffees. The selection of pastries and food items complement the drinks, adding to the overall experience. The quality of the coffee and food and the overall service and ambiance makes Lofty Coffee what it is. Lofty is an excellent spot for those seeking wonderful coffee and food in a charming setting

Had a sweet lunch at Lofty today. The workers were really sweet and my turkey avocado croissant was delicious. I also ordered an iced matcha with chai and oat milk and it was oh so tasty!

The milk in my coffee was steamed to such a high temperature that it was undrinkable, and the coffee itself had a pronounced sour taste, suggesting a lack of proper extraction or maintenance. It felt like they were using the hot milk to mask the poor extraction. The interior of the café was quite dark and not very comfortable to spend time in. The constant draft from the open door to the back patio made it even less pleasant. Speaking of the patio, it was quite noisy due to road traffic, making it less than ideal for a peaceful coffee break.Additionally, the café lacked a kid-friendly atmosphere due to the limited space available. I would recommend that they reconsider their seating options and strive for a more enjoyable experience for their customers. On a positive note, I have found that I make better coffee at home using their beans. It’s a bit unfortunate that they only offer the 2 and 5lb bags of whole beans on their website and not in-store.Edit: Thank you for your response. However, I couldn’t help but perceive a sense of cynicism in your response, which was not my intention with the review. My aim was to provide constructive feedback based on my personal experiences as a customer who appreciates your café.When milk is steamed at a very high temperature, it can overpower the flavors of poorly extracted coffee, making it taste less noticeable. It seems like this might be a deliberate choice in your coffee preparation process.
