Hugely disappointed. We ordered take out on a Saturday evening. When we arrive for pick up, the place was deserted. The other restaurants in the complex were enjoying brisk business. Red Flag. When we picked up our order, we asked for additional salsa. The man behind the counter gave us attitude, like we were asking for something way out of the ordinary. 2nd Red Flag. The carne asada had some large bits of gristle that couldn't be chewed. The steak taco was better. The kicker was the fish taco. My cousin's husband swore that it wasn't fish and was perhaps chicken. Odd, since the only chicken on the menu was sold out. 3rd red flag. Out of curiosity, I called the restaurant. I was told the fish was albacore! Albacore? Seriously? Not even cod or any other white fish. Albacore. Lastly, we had the churros. The churros were golden brown and evenly sugared and crisp. Then came the final nail in the coffin. Runny, raw dough in the churros. Blech!
Literally stole credit card. My husband opened a tab and gave them our credit card. When he went to close the tab, they claimed to no longer have the card, although they did have someone else's card. No help in trying to get the card back or dealing with the credit card company. This company may be a front for credit card theft. Use extreme caution!
Over priced dry tacos. Nothing like real Mexican tacos. Poor atmosphere dirty bathrooms. you name it, it’s here

I don’t even understand how this place has any good reviews.. truthfully the food was flavorless. They shouldn’t even offer birria nothing about it was even close to the real thing. The fish ceviche wreaked of the most awful fishy smell & lacked tremendous flavor just simply adding salt would do wonders if they knew anything about food/flavors. The waiter was a HOT mess, and don’t get me wrong I am graceful when I’m aware a restaurant is busy or understaffed but what threw me off was when we had already sat and ordered drinks and apps then he comes back and we ordered our “mains” he takes our order, leaves, then comes back after a few minutes and is like oh I need a car to leave on file for the tab.. I proceeded to say I have never heard of having a tab open unless you’re at a bar or something. He said that they opened a year ago (no idea what that had to do with anything) and that when he went back inside they told him he needs to go ask us for a card to put on file and I straight up said are we being discriminated against? It feels that way.. he’s like oh nooo it’s just like blah blah mind you he made ZERO eye contact and you could tell he was lying. Funny thing is he stated he has to ask all his tables and I paid attention and he did not ask anyone else. My family and I like to eat and try various things so it really felt like they were insinuating that we would “dine & ditch”.. won’t ever come back and I can already tell y’all this place won’t be around for that long. And I saw other people post how they say so many items are out of stock and it’s like take it off the menu then. It’s just a very unorganized “restaurant”. Honestly Taco Bell has more flavor than this place, and I don’t even like Taco Bell ?

Food is flavorless, it’s a bunch of high school kids essentially working a salad bar chit chatting. Very smokey. WAY too expensive for what it is. It’s jusr awful across the board. Oh, and half the menu is sold out…all the time. Take it off the menu if it’s sold out.

All of the tacos we had were exceptional. The flavors were delicious and the service was very friendly. The steak taco, fish taco, and corn were the standouts for us.

I’ve never seen a restaurant “sold out” of a large portion of their menu. The tacos were good, but $6.50 is way overpriced. Everything else looked nice but was pretty flavorless.
You order food yourself on a tablet when you walk in. They bring your food, but they don’t bring silverware or water.
I didn't care for the taste of my cauliflower taco ?. However! that's on me. I gave a 5 star ?? ? ? ? because it deserves it..
The creativity and presentation is splendid! The service is interactive, the location offers lots of inside and outside options. The other dish we ordered was the carnitas taco.. Which I heard was yummy. We also had this corn ? side dish which again is absolutely decadent.. They offer two options for mocktails and good Margaritas too.
Though it didn't all hit my taste buds perfectly I can appreciate and see their intention for FRESH, fusion & FUN food.. ?? Afterwards head across the parking lot to Jenni's ice-cream ? yum! ?

I had the privilege of meeting with the owner last night and let me tell you, he's a very nice person. I was curious about the name of the restaurant and he was more than willing to take time to come to our table and explain the Lola 55 story. It was lovely. After the interaction, the owner came back to our table and offered us a sample of something completely off menu that, from my understanding, will be coming out soon. It was fantastic!! Aside from that experience alone, the food was wonderful. I love the smokiness of the meat and all the other flavors from the fix-ins. Also, the restaurant has this peaceful, calming affect almost immediately when you walk in. It's beautiful and kept very clean and the staff are friendly. 5 out of 5 for me!

This is the more 'counter style' location for Lola 55 and it's in Carlsbad. The atmosphere was a little lacking - very upscale food court-y.
The place is infant friendly, which was very important for us. High chairs are available and there's plenty of parking.
The ordering process is intuitive. The food was good but aside from the Baja fish tacos and the cauliflower ones, nothing stood out (chicken and steak were alright, the squashroom was one note, and the quesadillas were ok).
Vegetarian options: The cauliflower tacos are a must, skip the squashroom. Overall, decent selection.
Dietary restrictions: They're very happy to accommodate for preferences and allergies.
Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. Can grab a high chair for infants and little toddlers.
Wheelchair accessibility: Perfectly accessible.
