It's actually very hard to find a legit near authentic Nigiri sushi around until arriving Mikko. If you want to know what a real normal good sushi should be then you can't discuss it unless you get Nigiri (Rolls do not get rated for Sushi anywhere really). The ratio of fresh cut Fish and the size, temperature and slight hint of vinegar are just right here at Mikko and this rating comes from Japanese me. I lived it on my first bite so much that I kept ordering just to see how the others come out until I realized I was making my coworker finish everything I order just for my 5stars. Needless to say, their lunch special (I order my Teriyaki Chicken bento box) is also satisfying and never had any issues!

On a whim after going to the vet we passed by Mikko to grab a quick lunch. It worked out well, they have dog friendly outdoor dining. Service was pretty quick since they're not too busy and our waiter was friendly and attentive. It was a bummer because they were out of oysters. Uni sushi quality not that great. We ordered Chirashi and lunch special Sushi combo, I just noticed the lunch combo's supposed to come with miso soup. Well, I didn't get any soup :(

I've eaten here many times. The staff is polite and helpful. On my last visit we each ordered an entree and Unagi Nigiri sushi. When they brought our entree out they didn't bring the order of sushi. I reminded the server that we did receive our full order. After finishing most of my mask I flagged down another waiter and told him that we still didn't have the sushi we ordered. After about 5 minutes he came to our table with the sushi. It was hastily prepared and didn't taste very good. The main portion of our meals was delicious.

Food is ok. Absolutely worst service and organization of a restaurant I have ever seen. 3pm on a not busy Saturday and everything took forever and was half wrong of what was ordered. Focused more on take out rather then customers there. Find a different place.

Love this place. Right off the 5 freeway in Carlsbad. Outdoor seating available. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. Prices are very reasonable.

First time visiting this place. The service was great. Staff is super friendly and the food is amazing. We got the Pipeline roll and the dynamite roll. We also got some miso soup and all of it was good. Next time we are in the area we will come and visit for sure!

This has become one of our go to places for a quick inexpensive lunch. We usually get the teriyaki chicken bento box which comes with a choice of two sides, rice, salad and miso soup. For sides, I usually opt for two servings of California rolls which amount to 8 rolls. My favorite part of this bento box is the rice which is sticky and yummy. I always have leftovers which is plenty for dinner. Service is always efficient. We did notice that prices have gone up a bit but still reasonable for what you get.

we were visiting So Cal for a week and on Friday nite needed Sushi. We arrived around 645, were seated immediately outside, on their patio, they even offer portable heaters but we were fine. We ordered the Chicken yakasoba and 3 rolls. The noodles came out first, it was a huge plate of tasty, well seasoned vegetables and chicken, we could hard finish 1/2 of it. Then the rolls arrived in a matter of minutes. We the deep fried Philly, the deep fried cali and the rainbow. They were so tasty. The fried ones were so light, airy, and full of flavor. I wish I had this sushi in my hometown, I would be their best customer. Our server was darling, prices very affordable. I can't wait to visit again when I am in Carlsbad.
