We stopped by Pho House & Grill in Carlsbad since hubby was craving for pho while we were visiting the area. Our waitress was nice and food was pretty good. Broth was flavorful and my rice dish was cooked perfectly with a sesame dipping sauce.

I’m sorry but don’t come here, you’ll regret it and be mad that you spent money coming out to eat in this economy, where eating out is truly a luxury. First walked in, empty. Bad sign. Tumbleweed went by in my mind. Thai tea was basically sugar milk bomb and I simply couldn’t drink it. Pho Thai lacked flavor, I feel like they’re honestly using boxed pho broth back there. Sliced steak was so over cooked it was stiff and chewy. Ordered fried rice for my daughter with shrimp, it had zero flavor I had to douse it in soy sauce and a tiny gnat came out with the soy sauce. Shrimp was also so over cooked it could have bounced like a rubber bouncy ball. Carlsbad needs something like this, I hope they get new chefs; or reach out to some cooking/recipe mentors. Oh forgot to say the basil and jalepeno toppings were so wiltedddd. Nothing seems fresh!

the guy standing at the counter is very rude, swears, is boorish, the food stinks of rotten meat, it takes a long time to prepare, the room is dirty. I highly do not recommend it. if this was the last cafe in the world, I wouldn’t even go back to eat there
