This was the last night they were open, closing for good at the end of Aug.31 with a "fire sale" of wine, spirits, food, tableware, glassware, cookware -- basically everything -- Sept4-7. So, no matter what our experience was, it's of no use to anyone now.

The crab cake was an insulting $28. Salty and thin. Never have had a crab cake like that before! Salmon was cooked very well but the potatoes looked like a runny mess and everything was way over salted. Very disappointing for the amount of money we paid. Will not be returning.

A good surprise! We have not dined at this restaurant before and was pleasantly surprised at the elegant atmosphere. Our waiter was excellent and served our food exactly the way we ordered it. It was lively but not loud. We will return!

The Service here is very good so it gets the 5 star nod from me. The food was all above average and to be frank, better than I had expected it to be.
Interior is dim lit and quaint, the bar scene was okay and semi lively. Lots of parking available and easy to get on the highway. I’d recommend if you live in the area and or staying at one of the nearby hotels.
Happy hour is outstanding!!! Everyone is gracious and very helpful.

Very, very good steaks. We tried the wagyu NY, ribeye, bison filet, and short rib. Each steak came with a whole head of perfectly roasted garlic and generous portions of sides (potato very good, broccolini pretty good). Desserts were good. Wagyu brownie was delicious and didn't actually taste different with the wagyu beef fat instead of vegetable oil. Crème brûlée was ok. Overall good food and great service, but pretty overpriced for what it is.
This is our go to anniversary celebration restaurant every year we go to Carlsbad. This year did not disappoint. My husband had the Prime Short Rib dinner with mushrooms and I had the 8 oz filet mignon. Both were cooked to medium rare perfection. Phil was our friendly, efficient and professional waiter who let us pick out a complimentary dessert for our 39th anniversary celebration. Ambience was quiet and romantic. Restaurant was easy to find, very accessible parking and not crowded at all. We will be back again next year if not before.
Overall, the bill was good functional. Steak was correctly cooked was moist. Ample sizes. I think one of my biggest problems with what was plated is. It did need something to come with the plating. When you spend $89 for a steak and some purée potatoes, it really should come with something else as a splash of color. Green and orange carrots slices, broccoli asparagus whatever. Just to bring it up one notch, I don't mind spending the money, but I do want there to be some value there as well

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND POLO STEAKHOUSE! The service provided by Alex was exceptional! The Polo Bar is beautiful and continually changes colors...it is very serene! I had the filet mignon and it was delicious! This is the place for Steak in Carlsbad!
We love this local restaurant! Has a classy atmosphere, varied & well-prepared food selections, attentive enough service, wonderful wine selection, & friendly and knowledgeable manager. Happy hour is an excellent value with many tasty choices! Best restaurant & best happy hour in north coastal San Diego!!

A nice place. Nathan the server was pleasant and helpful. We shared the charcuterie board and half rack of lamb. It was perfect for the 2 of us. Wish we lived nearby
