Hidden behind another pizza joint, I suggested we eat here instead. I was honestly thinking they would have pizza by the slice, but their way of competing against the many other pizza choices around the village is different. They offer a menu more than just pizza, including pasta, salad, veggie appetizers, and wine. Their pizza is practically a thin crust until you get to the end. It was amazing how perfect the crust was. It wasn't floppy anywhere and had a good chew. It was wonderful to dip into the leftover sauce from the stuffed shells, which was also great on its own. The pronounced lemon in the filling was awesome; I actually liked that it wasn't just a hint of lemon. The ambiance is intimate, but it's nice where we sat in their outdoor area. The service was OK. We weren't greeted when we stepped inside or as we walked up. The server didn't present our food by name, but rather placed it on the table. I don't think they even said, "enjoy". It just wasn't personable for a small local shop. When we left, however, another server who was working inside said bye and thank you. Guess it depends who you get.

We set ourselves down. Took them a while to take our order. Next time we saw someone at the table was when they brought my order. and 20 minutes later they brought the pizza to the table. Didn't see anyone come by and ask if we needed anything else. The food well let's say I would not recommend it, no flavor.

Phenomenal!! Thank you Maggie for being such a great host!! Salad was phenomenal! So simple and delicious! Radiatoi pasta and meatballs were terrific! Pizza was awesome!! We'll go back in a heartbeat!! Bread pudding !!!!!!!

This is a nice pizza spot in Carlsbad. It's never as crowded as the other pizza place down the street and their selections are really good. I got the no-cheese pizza the first time I visited and it was very delicious!

Been there twice in the last 6 months. 1st time had a pep pizza. Very bland. Had the beet salad & it was delicious. 2nd time had the fettuccine pasta. Thought it was going to be with Alfredo sauce but didn't read it and came with some red/orange sauce. Again, very bland. Cute place though. Very loud because it was busy. Maggie the Bartender was great!

We love this place but tonight was a miss. First,our order was wrong we ordered the larios Stromboli and was given the larios pizza). Then the dough was very chewy and not the normal light and bubble style we expect. Also, not sure if the changes ingredients but the pizza was much more greasy than normal and had far fewer of each ingredient. Still decent pizza but not at the cost for what it was.

If you're looking for a cozy spot off the beaten path to enjoy some homemade Italian food in Carlsbad, you have to stop at Roosevelt Pizzeria. This family owned restaurant is small but offers some amazing dishes. We loved the pizza, and the mushroom Gnocchi was very nice. Seating inside is limited, but there is available outdoor seating as well. Nice friendly service!
