FOOD SAFETY WARNING--I've just eaten here and the whole duration of my visit the manager was grilling an employee in the middle of the restaurant, very humiliating for the employee and awkward for all guests present. I excused the poor service because I've never found myself having to demand satisfaction for such a horrible experience, no less having to leave a review! But shortly after eating my stomach was wrenched with pain. I called the store to ask for a refund--seemingly a mistake on my part--because the manager treated me like a nuisance despite the very serious claims I was leveling against them. The manager told me I could not receive a refund until I was investigated by HR. I told her I would comply with this "investigation" if she could simply refund my order after a terrible experience. She got frustrated and hung up. Very unprofessional behavior for such a serious incident. I will consider removing this review if I might receive compensation for my sickness, but until then I advise all to avoid this restaurant for FOOD SAFETY CONCERNS that are not being addressed by the management.

Eh, it's ok. Too expensive in my opinion for half ass Mexican food. Just go to a regular taco shop.

I was in Carlsbad for a trip and wanted fast and fresh seafood and Rubio's did not disappoint. The food was delicious and fast service.

Super inconsistent portions. Last time I went there I got a steak burrito. There were 4 tiny pieces of steak in there. So I paid $12 for a burrito and was still hungry after finishing it. There’s a lot of Mexican restaurants in the area that serve a huge burrito enough for two meals. So that is where I will be going from now on.

This is our first time here as we were visiting California. I had a salad with chicken and my husband had the fish tacos. The fish tacos were good, the salad was a complete rip off. It was mainly a bowl of lettuce with a tiny bit of protein (chicken) and other stuff in it. I actually asked the staff about it and they said that the amount of protein and toppings is standardized and that's it. Staff was friendly, but I would not return.

Easy parking, friendly staff went above and beyond. Come her for Vegan food, burrito with beyond meat minus cheese/sauce very filling and tasty.

The food was okay. Tiny pieces of fish on the fish tacos, steak quesadilla was pretty good no complaints there, fish burrito was tiny.

This used to be my favorite location and it is very close to where I live, but unfortunately it has changed so much the past year or so, The food quality is different , Ingredients are not as fresh as they used to be, also Way less protein than before.
Definitely not worth the price, I would not pay $13-$15 for a bowl of rice and beans and some salsa.

I will only return to the store for the desserts, it’s the only thing they sell that still taste good.

I ordered on the app and I Received the wrong order, I called the store to let them know and they did not want to refund me or at least Remake it and have me pick up the correct order, I will never return to this store .

I placed an online order today for 2 california bowls & 4 fish tacos. Once i got there, i had to wait over 30 minutes to get my order. I didnt check my to go bag because i trusted them but i knew i should've because i drove home & and once i got there, i saw that they forgot the 4 tacos i ordered. I called but no answer so i had to drive back again. I told them they forgot the 4 tacos and i had to wait 30 minutes AGAIN. Got my tacos drove home and realized they put mexican rice in both bowls and i DID NOT order that. They also forgot my chips.
