This is by far the most unprofessional and unorganized Rubio's in the area. If you order online, the food isn't ready, and when it is ready they put it on the side without telling you even after you checked in. My food was ready for 10 minutes and it sat there. I had to go "bother" them again for it and it shouldn't be that much work just to get food. The Doordash drivers were also experiencing the same thing and I could see they're frustrated as well.

I recently purchased a shrimp burrito on Friday 10/27 at the Carlsbad location. I have a complaint to make that should not be taken lightly. Woof… Food was very average. Sides of beans and rice were overpriced for such small amounts. Very disappointing that the “chipotle sauce” was dairy (which I’m allergic to), and I had no idea. Add the word “cream” so people like me can ask to leave it off. Won’t be back.

An actual person responded from Rubio's and apologize for the double billings and offered a free meal for my next visit to Rubio's. The free meal was posted to my Rubio's Rewards account. The double billing has also been credited against my credit card account. It was a real hassle to get this straightened out, but I give Rubio's some credit for getting it resolved. Therefore, I have upgraded my original review of 1 star to 3 stars.

As soon as I walked in, Shelby at the cash register greeted us warmly. She was very patient as I figured out what I wanted to order. (Since I hadn't been to Rubio's in years, I wasn't familiar with the menu anymore.) Shelby was flexible and didn't seem annoyed when I kept changing my mind. She offered suggestions, too! My combo plate with a salmon taco and grilled chicken taco was filling and tasted fresh. Since extra white sauce costs more, I just squeezed lime on the salmon for more flavor. The chicken was tasty as is! Throughout the meal, I heard workers thanking customers for coming in, adding to a pleasant ambiance. I think this Rubio's does a great job of training its staff!

I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed that Rubio's is running a scam as a promotion. I went in to get the Tuesday Taco special. $1.99 for a taco. I normally don't eat fast food, but I was stuck at Bressi Ranch last evening with only $5 on me, no wallet or phone. I had to wait an hour for my ride to come get me, so I decided to get 2 fish tacos from Rubios. However, upon biting into the fried fish, I was surprised to see there wasn't any fish, just fried batter. So, I started to break the "fish" into pieces. Alas! there wasn't any fish. I had to throw the tacos out because I didn't want to have fried batter. Is this just on Tuesday because of the special, or is this the norm? I wish I had my phone so I could take photos as proof. Has anyone else encountered this?
First and only time visiting this location I got food poisoning. I had the chicken tacos with a side of chips and green salsa, which tasted fine at the time but I unfortunately got to see it a second time. Would not recommend

I went to this location last night and I have to say I was quite shocked! The manager and all the staff preparing the food had no gloves on. Picking up phones, touching registers, wiping sweat, no gloves. The one man who seemed to be the manager was literally scooping chips with his BARE HANDS onto peoples plates. Grabbing shredded cheese, everything bare hands. Absolutely disgusting!!!

Just want to say our cashier was wonderful! But when we received our order the cooks did not follow instructions on the ticket, when I returned to comment that the order was wrong the General manager and a gentleman titled as shift lead both working in the kitchen made rude comments while laughing out loud: " who orders that way" that's a weird order" all comments were purposely loud so all the customers in the front could hear the rude comments. As i was receiving my remade order, once again had to remind them about the sides that came on my order. I had never experienced such immatureness and unprofessionalism, especially from the management team. Other than the pleasant cashier, the experience really ruined our dinner. 06/14 PM
