This is absolutely the best Thai restaurant in the area. The tom kha is probably the best I’ve ever eaten. Cocktails are equally good and the service is always great. Highly recommend and they take reservations so you won’t have to wait.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Same Same Thai Food, and I can confidently say that this place is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with friendly staff who made me feel right at home. However, what really stole the show was the food.
The chef here is nothing short of incredible! You can tell he’s passionate about his craft because every dish is a masterpiece, bursting with flavor. The moment you take your first bite, the flavors pop in your mouth, each one more delicious than the last. Whether it’s the spice, the sweetness, or the savory richness, the balance is perfection. It’s clear that the chef puts a lot of thought into each ingredient and how they come together. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience!
The prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get. It's rare to find such high-caliber dishes that don't break the bank, and Same Same Thai Food delivers exactly that.
A special shoutout to the gentleman with the long hair and beard – he is a true asset to this restaurant! He was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and ensured that everything was just right throughout the meal. His service made the entire experience even more enjoyable. It’s not every day that you find someone who is both skilled at their job and genuinely passionate about delivering top-notch service.
I will absolutely be back! Same Same Thai Food is now one of my go-to spots for fantastic Thai food. If you haven’t been yet, I highly recommend you give it a try. Hats off to the chef and the entire team for making this such an unforgettable dining experience!

Kang is a great bartender, knows his stuff. the drinks are fantastic, the food is phenomenal. i got the chicken skewers and the spicy peanut sauce, made in-house, was the best peanut sauce i've ever had. the portions are small, if there was 10-15% more food on the "small plates" it would be ideal imo.

We had the BEST time at Same Same! The vibe and music are very cool, the food was great (don’t miss the larb croquettes), and the service from Kang and Ashley was fantastic. But the cocktails are the real draw. The menu is super entertaining, and the actual drinks do not disappoint! We tried 6 different cocktails as written. There was not a loser in the bunch. Our favorites included the Sioux City Old Fashioned, the Wendy Peppercorn, and the Haitian Divorce, but the one we can not stop talking about was the Corn of Action. It apparently is a multi-step labor of love including a centrifuge to make this thing. The perfect clear essence of Mexican street corn in a glass. It sounds nuts, but it is delicious. Kang also made non-alcoholic versions of 4 different drinks for our teens. All great… the Cheezus Crust I’m Thirsty was dreamy and pink and tasted just like a Nerds Gummy Cluster. Overall, Same Same was such a fun and unique experience. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Carlsbad!
