Kang is a great bartender, knows his stuff. the drinks are fantastic, the food is phenomenal. i got the chicken skewers and the spicy peanut sauce, made in-house, was the best peanut sauce i've ever had. the portions are small, if there was 10-15% more food on the "small plates" it would be ideal imo.

We had the BEST time at Same Same! The vibe and music are very cool, the food was great (don’t miss the larb croquettes), and the service from Kang and Ashley was fantastic. But the cocktails are the real draw. The menu is super entertaining, and the actual drinks do not disappoint! We tried 6 different cocktails as written. There was not a loser in the bunch. Our favorites included the Sioux City Old Fashioned, the Wendy Peppercorn, and the Haitian Divorce, but the one we can not stop talking about was the Corn of Action. It apparently is a multi-step labor of love including a centrifuge to make this thing. The perfect clear essence of Mexican street corn in a glass. It sounds nuts, but it is delicious. Kang also made non-alcoholic versions of 4 different drinks for our teens. All great… the Cheezus Crust I’m Thirsty was dreamy and pink and tasted just like a Nerds Gummy Cluster. Overall, Same Same was such a fun and unique experience. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Carlsbad!

I hardly ever leave google reviews, but Same Same is an absolute gem of a restaurant. The food, service, ambiance and hospitality were above anything I’ve experienced at a restaurant in a very long time. The owners were so kind, so helpful, and truly love the establishment and menu they’ve created. Don’t sleep on Same Same!!
Great place, love the vibe. Service was outstanding. Food and drinks were amazing. We did all apps - wonton samosas, larb croquettes, chicken satay with peanut sauce, shrimp ceviche. Highly recommend!

I dig this place. Pretty hip for Carlsbad. Nice, friendly staff and good drinks/beer. Decor is nice! Food is pretty good, the wonton samosa was the best thing we ordered, chicken satay was ok, sauce was good, the hot potato was only ok. The music they were playing (not live, just in the system) was good both times we've been here.

Soooo dope, same same… but differentttttttt ?? this is the spot. So sick, vibes are right, food is fire, drinks are so tasty. Feel so open and free, yet also feel I’m part of high class society without the suits and ties.
Had no idea what to expect, the sign outside looked super cool, and once I walked thru the doors, felt as if I traveled in time to a alternate life I was meant to live every single day.
Food is outta this world with tastes I’ve never had, drinks make me feel like I could go to war, and a cool shirt that I’m proud to rep high key.
